Sugarland Hotel

I was attending a party in the hotel that night and decided that I would rather check-in for the night than drive home late. The room price (I got superior) was very reasonable plus I had a seniors’ discount. What a surprise to see a beautiful newly-renovated home with an hacienda feel with the wooden planks. So homey plus the black out curtains would certainly give one a restful sleep. Am waiting for the next party and will definitely book myself again there. By the way, Twist, the restaurant serves really good food (I’m picky with my food) and at very reasonable prices. I had US angus pot roast for my lunch!

The room was very clean and comfy. I had an amazing stay however, I am a busy person and prefer to stay inside the room most of the time. I don't have much time in the world to go out and look for someplace to eat. I suggest you find someone to partner you in providing food for your guests especially during the night or early mornings. The staff were nice and accommodating, however, I don't feel any sincerity at all. They all look pleasant but boring, I suggest you should include in your training in teaching them to at least smile, after all, you are from the city of smiles. I was thinking they were only trying their best to be nice just for the sake of doing their jobs. They could have been more welcoming. Thank you for the excellent service though! :)
GT Hotel Bacolod

We stayed for 2 weeks in GT Hotel because our hometown was affected by Odette and there was no electricity, everything was very good until the last hours of our stay where we were forced to check out eventhough we have scheduled a PAID extended stay. We were advised that someone will occupy the room. What infuriated me most was I wasn't told earlier by Wella the front desk officer at that time who even saw us went out of the hotel 2 hours before the check out, that they confirmed a booking though we already talked a night before that we are extending and paying for an extension of 2-3 hours. She called me to confirm our check out and I told her of our expected checkout as agreed the night before but I was told that we have to vacate the room at 2pm because someone will arrive to check in. They made it sound that there were no other family rooms other than ours than can be occupied even though the hotel was not really fully booked. We totally love the service of the other staff but this one incident made a huge negative impression to us. GT Hotel became our home for that two-week stay in the typhoon devastated province. Just so disappointed how were treated.

While the hotel boasts beautiful interiors, the service is a major fail! On the second day of my stay, I took the initiative to remind the staff about our request for extra beds, which I had already made upon check-in. I came back to hotel at 2pm to remind front desk. However, despite my efforts, the beds were still not set up by 6 pm. So once again we reminded the front swak as my kids had a delayed flight, and we wanted the beds ready after dinner. We reiterated our request multiple times throughout the day. Yet, to my dismay, upon returning from dinner at 8:30 pm, the beds remained unprepared and not even seen in the room. To add to the frustration, the front desk girl named Ann told us the delay to our supposed indecision regarding a breakfast package in connection to the extra bed. The breakfast-inclusive package or not should have had no bearing on the timely setup of our beds. We also had requested before we left the room that our safe was not in working condition and if they would be able to repair or replace. Upon returning after dinner - no action had been made. Safe still busted. Worst of all after a very tiring day at 10:45pm music is blaring loudly one floor above us on the 5th. They didnt even warn us of an event ongoing. We would have never checked in if we were told ahead of time that there would be disturbing music all night long. Such a disappointment! Glaring difference between the hotel's impressive aesthetics and its operational inefficiency. Basic guest comfort and service is soooo lacking.
O Hotel

We recently stayed 2 nights at the O Hotel in Bacolod. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, the breakfast was great and the service was top notch!!! The hotel was under going renovation but it didn’t bother us at all. If the staff had not informed us, we wouldn’t have known it. We will absolutely stay here the next time we’re in Bacolod.

We were 11 pax and we arrived early. We were told that we cannot check in early as they were fully booked for the long weekend. So we left our bags at the hotel and toured around first. We went back before 3pm to get our room keys, but they were not yet ready, we had to wait a few minutes while they assign the rooms. While waiting, we stayed at the lobby, it was cool, nice, neat and had a cozy sofa. The restrooms near the lobby and cafe had no flush. They asked me to pay Php7,998 for the additional room (triple sharing) which I booked directly with the hotel (booked it a day before our trip), it was for 2 nights, I paid this via credit card. They also asked me to pay 5,000 pesos security deposit for the 5 rooms, they only accept cash or Gcash, they do not accept credit cards for the security deposit. When the rooms were assigned, we were given 1 key card per room. Rooms were standard sized, with single sized beds except for the triple sharing room. There was an open closet for our stuff and a safe. No mini ref. Only 1 pillow was provided per bed..sad…they charge 50 pesos per pillow per night if you want another pillow. Beds were comfy. AC was cold and working well. Only 1 hand towel was provided for each room eventhough 2 persons were booked for each room, if you request, there is an additional charge. The bath towels were a bit grayish too. 2 toothbrush and a roll of toilet paper were provided, but no facial tissues. Had to request for handsoap refill as it was almost empty, they refilled. 2 in 1 Body wash/shampoo was provided in the shower area, there was a bidet. No bottled water but they provided a dusty open pitcher (had to clean) in our room so we can get water from the dispenser near the elevator. Need to call them to borrow the hairdryer. You may also request for disposable slippers for a fee. The phone on my parents room was not working, we informed them but they didn’t fix. The wifi in the rooms wasn’t reliable, had to use data. Rooms were not cleaned daily, you probably need to request for cleaning. Breakfast was served at their Studio Cafe, you can choose from their plated breakfast selection, no coffee refill for free, they charge 90pesos for coffee refill and 60pesos for extra cup of rice. Hotel was centrally located along Lacson St. Very near restos, banks, pharmacy, pasalubong centers Merzci and Bongbongs. Easy to get a grab or taxi. They have good and affordable spa at the 5f - we had a good massage after a full day of touring, they accept cash or gcash only, they gave us 10% discount vouchers upon check in. We didnt try their pool and gym, so can’t comment on that. Staff were nice and courteous. They refunded the security deposit in cash upon check out. Thanks.
