Second time at Kembali Beach Bungalows. Matthuis and his staff couldn't have been more helpful. Perfect location on the beach with ocean views from the beautiful bungalow and beautiful pool. Walking distance to shops and local warungs for dining. Good snorkelling and diving options.

Location is very close to amed beach and the situasion more good then city. Cleanlines it okay but i wish you are more improve and all staf very kind and helpful also. The atmosfer is clean and suitable to holiday do snorkeling or diving on the beach

We booked a seaview bungalow and it was the best! The bungalows have a beach front location, with direct access to the water and snorkelling . We saw turtles every day as well as a variety of fish. We brought our own snorkelling gear but you can rent some for low cost. It is a black stony beach so footwear is recommended. The sunsets and sunrises are sublime. While not luxurious the rooms are very comfortable. Showers are hot and there is AC and fan if needed. Huge comfortable bed. The veranda with sea view is great. The breakfast and pool area are beautiful and there are flowers everywhere. Breakfast is simple but tasty. While they serve drinks and snacks through the day there is no restaurant as such but they can order in from a nearby warung. We really appreciated being able to refill our water bottles from the water cooler. It's also an easy walk to local warungs and supermarket. Staff can book activities. We hired a boat to take us down the coast to the Japanese wreck and other snorkelling spots and returned at sunset. Payment is by cash, but possible also via bank transfer or Pay Pal. The owner Matthijs very friendly and flexible and the staff are always smiling. We would definitely recommend and would love to return.

Kembali Beach Bungalows is terrific value for money. You need to email the owner to get one of the 4 beach bungalows, but if you are out of luck, the garden ones are also great, located near the pool. We were collected by Alex, the hotel driver who was very proficient in negotiating the Bali traffic. As pre arranged, we also stoped at a market and Klungkung Fabric Market on the way to Amed from Sanur. Alex also took us around east Bali on a day trip. The staff were fantastic, friendly and very helpful. You can get anything organised, just by asking. We had the best massages in our room, a sunset/fishing trip and a day trip around east Bali. It's a short walk (via beach or road) to restaurants, spa and a bar. Or you can walk further along the beach to the next bay for more choices. Snorkelling is just a few steps away. I can't comment on the snorkelling because we didn't go, but other guests were in and out of the water all day long. The room may seem basic, but it is clean, large enough with all that you will require. There is an outdoor bathroom and air-conditioning. The drinks provided in the breakfast area are really cheap, from juices to sodas. Breakfast is more than enough, but a la carte. If you want more, you can always pay extra, but we didn't need any more food. There is also an option of ordering dinner from a local cafe called Bliss. We did this every night. Prices were great and the food delicious. As noted by other comments, there is only one container of shower gel/soap provided which is in the basin area, and if you want a fridge in your room, just ask. For an extremely small price we had a large fridge for the duration of our stay. Get your laundry done while here, the prices are extremely cheap and the clothes are well looked after. We had a wonderful stay of 4 nights at Kembali and would be happy to return when next in Bali.

What beautiful little hotel right on the beach of Amed . We had the beach bungalows on the front of the beach . Open the doors in the morning and look out at the ocean. There are some great warungs near by . And great snorkelling right out the very front of the hotel with turtles tropical fish swimming there as well

Really surprised by the previous review as this is not what we found at all. Matthijs was very helpful and prompt with our enquiry on WhatsApp, and because a sea front room was not available for the whole of our stay we booked a garden room for our first night. Matthijs was not there during our stay but his team were friendly, helpful and attentive throughout. The previous reviewer is correct that water is not provided, and that there isn’t shower gel. However, there is nice soap provided. We much prefer to buy a single large container of water for a few Rupiah and decant from it into our own bottles, rather than the normal hotel practice of loads more small plastic bottles appearing every day. We had booked an optional refrigerator in our room for a nominal sum. Rooms were very nice, with comfortable beds and pillows, a safe (not provided in many smaller places in Indonesia) and plenty of storage space. They were also spotlessly clean. Both garden view and sea view rooms were identical and even our garden view had a view of the sea through trees and over the pool. A good breakfast is served with several options. There is no on-site dinner restaurant or bar. The staff are happy to order in food for delivery if you don’t feel like going out, or it's only a short walk to many restaurants. Would be very happy to stay again if in this area in the future.

An excellent location right on the beach. Attentive owner, friendly and responsive staff. Although it’s not luxurious the bungalows are very comfortable. We were able to swim and snorkel directly from the bungalow. All in all a great stay.

It was a perfect place for my husband and I. It was beachfront with a nice pool, beautiful garden and a bungalow that was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was fine, the juices were great. They will order out for you for lunch or dinner from nearby restaurants. The staff is amazing and Matthijs, the owner, responds quickly and is very helpful. He arranged pickup from the airport directly to Ahmed and for a ride to Ubud. The place is very relaxing, the sounds of the waves at night soothing. My husband went scuba diving everyday, the dive shop was across the street, and I spent most of my days by the pool enjoying the view and swimming. I also went snorkeling right in front of the hotel. We originally booked for 6 days but because the place was so lovely, we extended another 3 days. I highly recommend.

If this was just about location and view it would be 5 star. However… as a couple in the middle of a 3 month Bali journey with a rp 1M / night budget (AUD 100) this ticked all the boxes or so it seemed. Our 6th accommodation and the only one without a fridge, without shower toiletries (first time I can remember in 25 years or so) without any drink facilities, the first ever in over 20 Bali visits without daily bottled water. Pillows flat as a pancake and no spares. To top it off we ordered Bintang and asked for glasses at their eating area, they had no proper glasses so gave us water tumblers! It got worse when we brought our own wine and they had only one wine glass with a big crack in it! Amazing view and location, everything else shabby and lack of care
