Stayed for one night and genuinely understood why people love The Peninsula.
The room felt incredibly clean and dry — no humid feeling at all. The bed and sheets were extremely comfortable, and even something as simple as taking a bath felt relaxing here. After weeks of stress and moving around, this stay honestly gave me a rare sense of rest.

Stayed at Fairmont Makati for a recent business trip and had a very smooth and comfortable experience overall. The hotel is located in a prime area of Makati, right in the central business district and within walking distance of major malls, restaurants, and offices, which made it extremely convenient for work travel and client meetings.
Check-in was efficient and professional, and the staff throughout the stay were consistently polite and attentive. The room was spacious, well-maintained, and equipped with all the essentials for business travelers, including a comfortable work desk and reliable housekeeping. The bed was especially comfortable, which helped after long working days.
Wi-Fi is generally stable and suitable for work, though in some areas it can feel slightly inconsistent during peak hours. The hotel also offers strong business facilities, including meeting rooms and easy access to transport services like Grab, which made commuting around Makati and to the airport very convenient.

For a 5 star hotel, the service is very annoying. They would call me randomly to ask for feedback a few hours after I checked in. They would knock on my door early in the morning while I'm still sleeping to do a ”room check”... On the day of my check out, I had a knock on the door a bit past 9am, I ignored it as I was still in bed but they kept ringing the bell. I finally got up and the lady asked ”is there anything I can help with?”. Yes leave me alone. I went back to bed to rest and then got a phone call soon after as a reminder that check out is at 12pm. It's not even 10am yet and your staff already interrupted my sleep twice. Trying to get the room clean involves multiple phone calls. Once I left it to see how long it would take but at 6pm, I had to call since they never came during the day. Another time they cleaned, the cleaners said they ran out of towels so there would be someone who would deliver soon. I forgot about it until we went to have a shower and then it took almost an hour for the towels to arrive so we had to wait to use the bathroom as they took away the dirty towels so we didn't have anything to dry ourselves. Don't order room service. The food is very bad. I actually gagged on a drink they prepared. The TV is very old, they are still using cable technology. WiFi is patchy. Trying to get up and down the lift is a nightmare if you come at the wrong time as the line gets backed up all the way out into the street. My girlfriend was stopped by over eager security staff when she was trying to leave to buy some snacks as the room service meals were so bad even tho she had a room key and they would not let her up to the lobby on the 6th floor without me. Instead, I had to go down and pick her up from the ground floor where she was sitting in the corner like she was in trouble.DariSAR 509

The hotel review:
My experience at this Shangri-La property was not as good as others in the region. The building and facilities feel noticeably older, which affects the overall stay.
In the room, the air conditioning was not adjustable. I do appreciate that the team promptly sent a technician to check it, but the unit remained very loud throughout the night, cycling on and off every few minutes, which made it difficult to sleep.
Traveling with another friend, her room also encountered an issue with the bathtub water appearing brown, which technician conclude that is due to sediment buildup.
Overall, I would recommend choosing the Shangri-La in BGC instead, as it offers a better experience.DariSAR 566

As always, the staff are accommodating and courteous, from the front desk, security, and restaurant servers, even the OJTs (I think?) wearing white uniforms during breakfast. Everyone was nice, attentive, and welcoming.
I always come back to St. Giles because of its location and the homey feeling it has compared to other hotels in Poblacion. I’ve stayed at different hotels around the area whenever I want a quick staycation to relax and swim during my days off, but this has always been my go-to hotel. This was actually my first stay this year, and I noticed that a lot has changed.
I’m not sure if it’s due to government regulations, but there are no toothbrushes provided in the room anymore. There was also only one bath towel in the room even though there were two of us checked in. The water in the hallway is empty in the morning when we want to make coffee in the room. I hope the housekeeping team will be more attentive with these things.
What disappointed me the most was the breakfast selection. Breakfast used to be one of my favorite parts of staying here, but now the selection feels quite limited and sad. There’s no bacon or even danggit anymore, which are usually breakfast staples. Most of the choices were heavy meals. Plus points for the roti, though.
Overall, the stay was still okay, but I think I might not come back in the meantime. I hope next time i'll experience the same homey and warm feeling from you.DariSAR 101

When you checkin, the Receptionist alr mentioned this is basic hotel, without any amenities at all, room only.
Even slipper room not available.
Good point, they inform you in advance.

Location was OK, near with 7/11 and other restaurants around, but kindly note, there is some smell when you walking around outside the hotel.
Nearby also with some Bar so you can see the other perspective of Makati's vibes.

In center area, it felt really sticky with light brown stains on it, like some liquid spilled, but I dunno what.
Inside duvet also have un-clean orange stains.
I want to complaint from room but there is no telephone there.
And alr too tired to going down, stayed on 6th floor and their lift took so long, need to improve.
Regarding this complaint, I talked directly to the Receptionist when checkout today and they asking me to transfer all photo from my phone to investigate with Housekeeping Department, thank you for her.

The location is excellent, and the rooftop bar with its amazing view is simply amazing. The room was very clean, as were the hotel’s common areas. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and polite. The breakfast was absolutely delicious.

Security, check-in, bell boys are great. The facade of the hotel is far more better than wat is real. Some elevators are not functioning properly. Bed are neat and clean. Aircon is acceptable. Location is excellent but for people not accustomed to nightlife hang-out are advice to not to stay out passed 10pm. Breakfast service is a trash , don’t know dignity to serve the guest with special food dietary requirements. Highly not recommended for vegetarian or vegan guests. Kitchen staff have nothing to serve and they avoid serving guests. Also they can give a tough fight for bottled water they provide two bottles of around 300 ML per day, which is highly unlikely either they must arrange water coolers at all floors. At least such a great hotel chain like ramada don’t miss on water revenues highly unfair. Water is a basic necessity and if they don’t provide with basic necessities they are not into hospitality business either. Still front desk staff are polite but kitchen management staff are not so favourable and don’t bother if you have nothing to eat. Your dignity and respect to guests must be your responsibility as you are paid for your service so you are not doing obligations on them. Please try to be polite and respectful at all times. I had a fantastic stay at Coro Hotel. The rooms are spacious, modern, and very clean-the colorful, artsy vibe really sets it apart from typical corporate hotels. We stayed here for 2 days and I can tell it was a right choice of accommodation. First, area is good, you can walk around, there are many cafes and supermarkets and malls, but you can also take taxi easily and go to BGC, historical area, or an airport.

I’m Japanese and stayed here for 3 nights without breakfast.
I often use this hotel because I have things to do nearby.
The hotel is clean, and the communication with the staff is minimal, which makes it comfortable and easy to stay here.
The air conditioner in the room worked fine, but the shower temperature and water pressure might not be satisfying for some Japanese guests.
However, they were acceptable for me, so I had no problem.
