Lesong Hotel and Restaurant

Our visit to the Lesong Hotel was wonderful! The staff are incredibly attentive and kind. Yoga and Willy in particular were wonderful during our stay. The scenery at Lesong was dreamy! Gorgeous views of the rice patties right from our room. The landscaping was gorgeous and well maintained. There were butterflies everywhere on the grounds. It felt like a fairytale. The rooms were comfortable. Enough space and amenities to be comfortable while you’re surrounded by jungle! We did a day excursion to the waterfalls, the temple, and the market. The waterfalls were spectacular! The hotel staff set us up with a wonderful driver. It was smooth and easy. My husband got a massage while he was there and he said it was great! The food was just what we needed also. We went with our four year old daughter, so the grounds were hard to keep her entertained on. There’s not a lot of space to just roam around and she requires a lot of roaming! If you’re traveling with kids under the age of 6 or 7, you may want to find an area that’s better suited for them. If it weren’t for our daughter, we would have loved to stay longer!

I am reluctant to write this review because Lesong l is a hidden gem that hasn't been swarmed by annoying influencers. As others have mentioned, the views are unparalleled and must be seen to be believed. I could hang out on the private balcony for hours watching the sunset and sunrise to the sounds of nature and gamelan. I love the hotel's focus on preserving the local culture/environment with education and sustainable practices. Most of all, Willy and all the staff are so wonderful and saw to every need. This is a local, family-run hotel, so while you shouldn't be expecting everything you might find at a high-end resort, the staff will absolutely go above and beyond to accommodate you. They arranged a 5:30 a.m. sunrise trip and 7 a.m. trek for me easily (and someone met me early in the morning with a breakfast box!). I HIGHLY recommend taking one of their guided tours, which will take you through secret jungle paths to temples, where you'll learn about local flora and fauna, indigenous practices, and the history and evolution of the local area with the influx of tourism and development. Location-wise, it's about 30-40 min. walk to get to the center of Munduk, but I mostly enjoyed the journey walking around the back roads through local villages. I found the food at the restaurant to be delicious. The hotel has to cater to the taste of international clientele (i.e. Westerners who cannot handle spice), so if you're looking for authenticity, order some of the local dishes on offer and ask for it to be "spicy." I'm only halfway done with my vacation but can confidently already say this is my favorite place in Bali. Suksma!

The staff were as fantastic as the views! We happened to be at Alamdhari during Nyepi and the manager took all the guests out to see the celebration in the streets. We were invited to every little thing that happened and were made to feel so welcome. Now, back to the views. We stayed in March, so the rice paddies were lush and green, just perfect for photography and walks! The weather was warm and sunny in the mornings, usually there was some rain in the afternoon and then it cleared at night. Good to bring a rain coat and dry bags to keep your gear safe. The hotel can also arrange a scooter if you would like. As much as I'd have liked to cycle, the hills are very steep and you can get around far more easily with a scooter (80, 000 idr per day). The food in the hotel was ok. Tasty, but nothing to get particularly excited about. Then again, if you want good food, go to stay at Munduk Moving Plantation (as you'd expect, the price is far higher).
