Ulasan Shangri-La Bangkok

Disappointed with the room. The renowned Shangri-La hotel, is nothing but just a old hotel and weird smell room. Expected more from this hotel for my birthday. But utter disappointed. The only plus point is the view of Chao Praya River. Else, wont come back here again.

All staff are helpful and friendly. The decorations are great. Hotel room is very clean and tidy everyday.

Location and view of the river excellent. Close to BTS station and Iconsiam mall, pity boat shuttle stop operating after 5pm. Bfast buffet ok, nothing to write home. Lap swimming pool water murky. Gym excellent. Not all staff hospitable after coming from Koh Samui. Overall ok.

Great view, corner room with a nice balcony. Great shower with lots of heat. Very close to the boat and train.

Stayed many times, I personally think it’s the second best hotel in BKK only to the Mandarin Oriental which is significantly more expensive. The lobby is very inviting, the rooms are well appointment, the pool by the river is one of my favourite places, breakfast is great and the service of the horizon club never falls short. I recommend the Shangri-La Bangkok.

UNFORTUNATELY, I choose to stay in the original wing with the balconies. Everything seemed nice at check-in BUT I missed a very important Que! The bellman transported our bags from the Shangri La main entrance to our wing's lobby BY VAN!!!! IT IS A VERY LONG OBSTACLE COURSE TO WALK BETWEEN THE TWO and breakfast is served at the far end. NEVER had the energy or courage to go for my pre-paid breakfasts because I am mobile challenge requiring a cane for long walks. BEWARE, NOT HANDICAP FRIENDLY FACILITY.

This is how a five-star hotel is supposed to be. The rooms are not brand new but very well maintained. The breakfast by the river is just so relaxing, there are a large variety of food, and the quality is also high. The hotel garden is by the river and very pleasant for an evening stroll. Since the BTS is just next to the hotel, it is the most convenient hotel that is located by the river.

Krungthep Wing deluxe double bedroom with balcony river view cost more than the Sjangri La main wing double bedroom river view, as the main wing doesnt have balcony except one only corner room type on each floor level. The Krungthep wing is more for residential longer stay terms but open sale as many unocvupied. Main swimming pool, breakfast cafe etc etc are all on the main wing building which is about 200-300 meters walk away from Krungthep wing which made slightly inconvenience. Smoking 8s also not allowed even having the balcony which dedeat the purpose of staying on the Krungthep wing which is better to stay in the main wing. Otherwise bedroom is spacious and more quiet on the Krungthep wing. Overall, had a pleasajt stay.

I stay at Krungthep Wing of this hotel. It is very convenient as it is next to Saphan Taksin BTS and jetty to Icon Siam. The hotel breakfast is good. The staff are very polite and helpful.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay in Shangri La Bangkok. The smell of freshness as we entered the lobby really mesmerising. The room was great as we choose a room facing the river. So we enjoyed the view at night without even leaving our room. The location is great as Icon Siam is just across the river and a free boat service is available every 30 minutes. To sum up, I really had a fantastic vacation at Shangri La Bangkok.

Room is ok, but service is lacking. Had an issue with the room TV, called them twice in a day, but TV was never fixed.

They have a very nice swimming pool next to the river, the staff in the hotel is very friendly and caring, they pay extra attention to travellers with kids. Highly recommend this hotel

The hotel has a swimming pool overlooking the river, is close to the boat stop to access temples and chinatown and is also close to the BTS subway so very practical. There have good service's and the staff is very friendly.
