This hotel is brand new with comfortable bed and LED TV. The gym facilitate is well equipped. I’m quite satisfied except for the check-in at the counter where they couldn’t allow me to have my room 30 mins earlier because I booked the room with third party despite they had plenty of empty rooms. I needed to wait at the counter till the check-in time.

Just a kilometer or two from the downtown core, the Grand Hotel is nestled near the malls and restaurant area. We were 3 (senior) sisters, one of whom was scheduled for eye surgery. Though we arrived just past noon, we were able to check in. The patient was able to nap as this is a quiet area. We chose an upgrade, a slightly larger room with a fireplace with a juliette balcony. Parking was convenient, right below our window. It was Valentine's Day! and we couldn't get a dinner reservation in any nearby restaurants. We declined the Sweetheart Special at the Grand as it was a bit pricy. Susie, the dining room hostess, asked the kitchen to accommodate us. They created braised ribs, mashed potatoes and vegetables for $45pp. Fair value and good food. The dining area is set up for quiet chat and eating, with a decor that absorbs the sound and pleases the eye. The room also had a frig and microwave. The shampoo and conditioner were exceptional quality. We had no issues and will stay again when the sister gets her follow up surgery. The desk clerk was courteous and accommodating, esp with our early check in. The total for an overnight stay for 3 people was less than $200.

The air conditioner started leaking 3 or 4 days before we left the hotel as we were there for one week . It was kind of awkward as it is above the closet and right in front of the front door so we had to keep a towel down so nobody slipped. Especially my 5yr old son when he visited . Also I didn't realise when booking the room how small it was, it actually was inconvenient, how small it was especially for a week! If I had known that (because the picture makes it look like a regular sized hotel room and they had thae size on there bit which really looks at the sq metre if the room size. If I I had known it was so small I wouldn't of rented there.
The staff were great though. They didn't charge us for late booking four when we told them about the air conditioner leaking

I stayed at the Beach Club Resort while I was attending a conference at the hotel. The hotel lobby is spacious and has adequate seating. Took under 10 minutes to check in. The room I received was a Studio 2 Queens beds with balcony facing the ocean. Most of the rooms have a balcony attached. The studio was clean and a descent size. Room comes with Mini-Fridge, Microwave, and cupboards. The bathroom is average size. Enough for 2 people Wireless Internet is available throughout the resort. The resort has Pacific Prime Steak Restaurant attached with in-door dining and outside dining overlooking the ocean. Restaurant is right on the Parksville boardwalk. Highly recommend to reserve a table outside on the patio. Beautiful views of the ocean and specially the sunsets. Resort is located in the center of Parksville. Close to little knickknack stores. While there, all staff were friendly and helpful. Will stay again. Points of Interests: Cathedral Grove: 25 minute drive Coombs (Goats On The Roof): 10 minute drive Parksville Community Park: 5 minute walk Qualicum Beach: 12 minute drive Quality Foods: 3 minute drive or 23 minute walk Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park: 6 minute drive Thrifty Foods: 3 minute or 12 minute walk

Not sure if it's the results of listening to customer suggestions over the years or new ownership - or both, but oh what a wonderful resort this has become from the resort of just a few years ago! We've stayed at this resort a few times over the years and the location has always justified the price of the stay. Since our last visit, however, this resort has undergone a complete makeover. It's almost unrecognizable from its past self. The lobby looks amazing now, the restaurant is fantastic. Grounds, which were once rugged and unkempt are now clean, manicured and befitting the million dollar view of the bay. Rooms are wonderful too! A special mention to the staff who are simply amazing. Cleaning staff seem to be constantly on the go, maintaining the cleanliness of the resort to the highest standards and the reception staff are terrific to deal with. Oh, and if you happen to be traveling with a four-legged family member, rest assured, the folks at Bayside love dogs almost more than people! Dogs are given to the absolute VIP treatment here! Also a shootout to whomever had the brilliant idea to add the beautiful outside pool to the amenities offered at Bayside. We didn't get to use it this time, but you can be certain we will on our next go round - and there WILL be a next go-round as this will remain our go-TO accommodation in the Parksville area! Top marks!

Actually we couldn't get to Ucluelet because of wildfire road closures and needed somewhere to stay for 2 nights. Accom in the area was tight because of the wildfire but they offered us a suite in their sister property half a kilometer up the road and we couldn't have been happier. The gated development has a communal seating area outside with sunbeds, seats, barbecues and a firepit. The views are supurb with sea views from the lounge area and bedroom in our suite(no 5) inside it is very well equipped with everything you are likely to need. Staff are friendly and attentive, all in all a great stay with nice memories. Thank you QBOS, the only reason I don't give a 5 is that a safe would have been hood, most people travel with passports, cash, cards, even jewellery but to be fair not many places have had a safe on this trip

CCarrie-AnneWe had a great time. The staff is friendly and helpful, offering good informatiin for island activities. (highway closure, local acyivities and such) The pool is a little cold but there is a nice hot tub jacuzzi option. The pools hours of availability are terrific, and allowed for plenty of time for fun The breakfast available with the stay offers a good basic variety of hard boiled eggs, cereals, toast and bagels juice and coffee or tea. Just one suggestiin would be to add aniyher ice machine, otherwise we are happy with our stay and found everything clean and enjoyable Again such friendly and helpful staff throughout. Booked via email as we were delayed at the ferry and knew we would not make it to our destination that night. We needed a pet friendly and this was all I could find. Had I not prepaid with our cc my hubby would have driven to the first Walmart and we would have slept out in our van overnight. The room they gave us was on the other side of the parking lot. I asked if I could park near our room and no that wasn't possible. The parking spot they gave us was out of sight of our room. So I asked if I could have a room closer to where we had to park our car. Sure for an extra $25 cause it was a so called suite. I paid it as we had our expensive bikes inside our vehicle and all of our gear. The total cost with all fees came to about $200. The room itself was fairly clean. The bars on the windows were an indication of how safe the area was lol. We hardly slept all night as the noise in the area continued till the week hours of the morning. We were up at 6, showered and got the hell out!
