I would describe myself as a “non-guest” as I reserved and booked here, thinking it was a dog-accepting hotel. But at checkin, there was a sign “no dogs in rooms” - so I was in a quandary. When I iexclaimed at my confusion and error, the receptionist was totally cool and maximum helpful - he called a sister hotel, transferred my reservation and payment to them, pre-checked me in, and  never broke a swear, just “happy to help ma’am. “ Great service! Excellent staff!  Thanks so much!

Just be advised, if you are planning to walk Cathedral Trail from here, it takes 40 min drive as the distance itself isn't that far but there's no straight route and you will have to drive around the mountain. Stay itself was really nice with clear wide view.

The room is badly in need of renovations because the very old carpeted floor is uneven and bumpy. There is a smell in the room where I had to open the window to air. The bathtub hot water is just barely warm. A report to the receptionist on my 3rd evening.. who suggested I change my room. When I checked on the first day, the reception offered a room upgrade which I rejected after I went to the room because it was very dark and gave an uneasy feeling. This is probably the worst hotel on this trip in Canada where I have been for last one month.

Great location, just a minute from the ferry. The room is good value, with a practical kitchen that made cooking for the kids easy. Bright, clean bathroom and a very comfortable stay. Suhail gave us a warm and friendly welcome. Will definitely book again next time in Nanaimo.

We only book this hotel after we got off the ferry. We were glad that we came to this hotel when there were only a few rooms left in two hotels nearby. The room is spacious with a balcony. We can enjoy the sunset view here. The noise from the main road was a bit noisy. In the first night we had the air conditioning on, but it was a bit noisy. Then we turned it off, somehow the noise from the road was still acceptable. The service at front desk was great. We booked the room only minutes before we checked in and the check in was very smooth and quick. We extended one more night before midnight, and the transition was very easy. We can stay in the same room. The deposit can be transferred for the 2nd night by filling one more paper. The bathtub was spacious for two people, but it doesn’t have light there, so it’s a bit dim. The shampoo and shower gel given were Dove, only the tooth brush and paste were not provided. There was a TV in our room with a TV box, but we didn’t use it. As we watched our own movies on our iPad. The only downside was the breakfast provided limited choices with only sausage patty, omelettes with cheese, cereal with milk, drinks from the coffee machine and fruits. And we used the laundry on site. They charged CAD4 for washing without providing a detergent, another CAD4 for drying clothes. I think it’s overcharged. We felt safe staying in this hotel, although we didn’t ask for the room cleaning, but the cleaner still came when we were out. Nothing was found missing. Only the bathroom towels and the tissue box were replaced with new ones. The car park here is free to use, no need to reserve.

Great downtown location with a beautiful shore walkway right across the street and easy access to everything. Unfortunately, my room was very noisy due to nearby street construction. I was woken up by what sound like a concrete cutter powered by a massive industrial generator. The blend of piercing, high-pitched screeching and the deep, thunderous hum created a jarring symphony that was impossible to ignore for an unpleasant and headache-inducing morning. I recommend future guests request a quiet room, especially on workdays, as construction noise can be disruptive

We had a great time. The staff is friendly and helpful, offering good informatiin for island activities. (highway closure, local acyivities and such) The pool is a little cold but there is a nice hot tub jacuzzi option. The pools hours of availability are terrific, and allowed for plenty of time for fun The breakfast available with the stay offers a good basic variety of hard boiled eggs, cereals, toast and bagels juice and coffee or tea. Just one suggestiin would be to add aniyher ice machine, otherwise we are happy with our stay and found everything clean and enjoyable Again such friendly and helpful staff throughout. Pretty awesome place. I like the having security cameras pointed towards the parking lot. Makes me feel safe with leaving our loaded vehicle outside. The bathroom looks modern and nice. I would love to stay here again

It was a nice experience. Amenities are very accessible.

Staff went above and beyond for accommodating my mom to stay at ground floor as she has difficulties with going up and down the stairs.
