SSeat 2AThis is an intimate 5-room establishment situated amidst the alleys of the Old Town, hence cars cannot drop passengers at the doorstep. Easy enough to catch a shuttle bus for EUR 8 from the airport to the bus station at the port, from which a Makarun staff will meet you and assist you with your luggage to the hotel, a 10-minute walk away.
Breakfast is a la carte, as is to be expected for such a small establishment, comprising 3 courses - pastry/toast, eggs of your choice with cold cuts, and a dessert, complemented by tea coffee and/or juice. Food was more than adequate in terms of quantity and quality.
My room was comfortable enough, though 2 issues were noticeable:
* Instead of a flat cotton bed sheet, there was a fitted sheet made of what seemed like jersey, and looked more like a mattress protector.This was pilled and coarse, in contrast to the far smoother cotton quilt cover. When I brought this to the attention of the staff they explained that this is standard for the hotel. Whilst it did not affect the quality of my sleep, the coarseness of the sheet wasn't entirely pleasant
* In the bathroom, the shower was mounted at waist height, hence one either had to hold the shower in one hand, or, if there was a need to use both hands to wash, then one would have to crouch under the shower while it was in its holder. Not particularly convenient.
Overall a comfortable stay in a convenient location, enhanced by the friendly and solicitous Ivan and Mario.

LLiving it up!I loved this hotel very much! The room was clean and new. It was situated at the perfect location which enjoys the best view of Split while you can reach the old town/castle within 15min by walking along the beautiful ocean side. I was really amazed by their breakfast. The hotel service was very good too. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I was granted a late check-out at 1pm upon request :) Highly recommend this hotel to visitors of Split!

LLC678Good location in the palace area, but it could be very confused because the hotel has different annex which is couple minutes walk apart. And it could be difficult to find the location of the annex, for the one I stay in named Villa Donbric couldn’t be find in Google map. Besides, since we have couple of large luggages, we look for hotel with elevator but the annex I stayed didn’t facilitated one. (I am not sure the other annex has one or not) The room is smaller than I expected, it’s a bit messy when we open up two luggage together. Other than that, it’s a cozy place to stay with helpful staff. The breakfast is served and good, with different options of eggs. I suggest extra attention is better when booking the hotel about the location and concern with luggages. Or I will suggest booking their optional pick up service.

DD. CooperA lovely stay in Briig hotel. A perfect location by a local beach with easy access to the port and town in under ten minutes by foot.
Very spacious rooms with a super comfy XL bed and updated designer toiletries in the bathroom along with the amazing shower.
A small but functional rooftop pool and sun deck and lovely garden to have breakfast and drinks.
As a designer hotel it might be even better if it were adult only…but I appreciate that is highly subjective.

PPengguna TetamuThe hotel is in an incredible location, at an incredible price. The room and building were very clean with great facilities, though some of the room furniture, like the desk chair, could use a bit of a refurbishment. This however for most travelers will be no issue as you will want to be out and about exploring the city and using the room as just a home base. I will absolutely come and stay again, and thoroughly enjoyed my time in Split and my stay at Slavija. It can be a bit hard to find to those new to the winding streets, but the location is perfect for an unforgettable trip. Thanks to the staff at the Slavija for an incredible stay!

MMark ElshoutExcellent location right in the centre of great restaurants and the tourism hotspots. The room and bathtub are great. Good wifi and television box for plenty of viewing options. Rooftop garden/outdoor area is amazing at sunset (see attached photos). A couple of things to prepare yourself for which are out of the control of the hotel owners: there are 90 steps to the floor where the rooms are so would not recommend if you are physically challenged, and the restaurants in the square do have music till quite late which is audible in the rooms so light sleepers may like to try ear plugs. Sound did not bother us and the walk up the stairs was good for our health! The whole of the city has bell ringing at various times during the day (7am, Midday, 8pm) No need to set an alarm to wake up in the morning!

PPengguna TetamuWe needed to stay one night in Split to catch a flight the next day, and we booked the Plaza Marchi. However, because it was so cold on that night, there was an issue with the pipes freezing and there being no hot water. We were contacted immediately and asked if we would want to stay at their other property nearby, in a better room with no extra charge. We were happy to do so. Someone from the hotel met us at the place we designated, so that we would be able to find it easily. She happily took us to the hotel and showed us to our wonderful room with a glorious view of the harbor and riva. We loved the decor of the hotel, the comfort of the bed, how clean it was, and how quiet, considering the central location. We would definitely stay at either of their hotels again, and highly recommend them!

PPengguna TetamuWe did not spend a lot of time in the hotel but overall, it was a pleasant stay. Nice and helpful staff. Great price for a decent hotel in Split. However, we still had to climb up the staircase after taking the lift which was a bit inconvenient. Location-wise, it is near to the tourist spot with everything in walking distance. It is just a bit far from the bus station given that uber / taxi cannot be stopped near the hotel. There were a lot of staircase / walking required.

This is not like a hotel, more like a villa, the security of it is not very high, as it has 2 entrances.
The entrance from the pool, anyone can access it without a problem.
The swimming pool was quite dirty, it has a lot of bugs floating, and also it has not been regularly cleaned by the staff.
It has a lot of restaurants nearby, and the quality and the price are better than those tourist meals in the old town.
The lift was broken on the first day, second day they informed us it is fixed. But it still has a little bit sudden sinking issue.
I guess Croatia does not have regulation of fix term lift checking, as it does not have any certificate in the lift inside/outside.
If the hotel showed 3 stars and the price is lower. I would rate
The right side of the balcony has a big tennis field on the 2nd-floor level, it is very close, and it was quite annoying that people can look over easily.
The suite does not worth 4 stars. The rug is super old, it has some stains on it.
The Front door lock is looking new, it is safe, but some electricity installation was not installed properly, it looks like you can pull them out easily.
The Electric Safety box is not working with the password, the hotel left a key in there for use.
Breakfast arrangement is well managed for guests with early tour, they could arrange breakfast box including 1 fruit, 3 breads, and 1 yogurt at 06am to 07am.

-Staff was very absent and you need a key to get in the hotel and in room. we forgot our key in our room and realised after dinner around 11pm and even though staff should be in hotel until 3am : no one was there . We had to contact by phone only but being Canadian we didn’t have a working phone . We almost slept outside. . We got help from neighbour restaurant.
- staff supposed to start again at 7 am ; we left at 8 without checking out as again there was no one .
- my daughter got her EarPods stolen in our room we could locate them with the Apple app and could see exactly where they were . Again no staff at all in hotel to tell them cleaning person stole. (We are SURE 100% they were stolen as they didn’t leave the room we never brought electronics with us anywhere and the location they were at was 7km away from hotel where we had never been.
- they offer steaming service, I wanted to use it but they told my it took 1 week to fet my clothing back .. we were there for 4 days. Staff offered to bring a steamer to my room so I could do it myself . They never brought it…
-there was a beautiful terrace on the 4th floor but we only found out about it on our last night .
- we wanted to go to a beach and the staff said it was a 45 min walk and that’s only way to go. We walked . Finally when we got there .. we could have takes a trolley for 3euro …. We took it to come back.
