BBryce van de LaarWe spent two nights in Alquimiste and we never wanted to leave! The guesthouse which is almost 100 years old is full of antique furniture, original artwork, and even has a lookout tower on the 4th floor boasting 360 views of the Carrasco neighborhood.
It is a 2 minute walk from the beach and very close to some of Montevideo’s most famous restaurants. Carolina and Mark are delightful and happy to help with anything.
The restaurant is lovely, and the breakfasts is a real treat. Hot croissants, freshly baked scones with marmalade and cream cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice, and beautifully plated granola we’re just some of our favorites.
Staying at Alquimiste, you really feel like you are apart of something special!

PPengguna TetamuHotel lindíssimo, ótimo atendimento e localização privilegiada, a piscina é sensacional. Só achei bem desagradável cobrar a parte 10 dolares o eggs bennedict no café da manhã. Nenhum hotel 5 estrelas pode ser deselegante a esse ponto. Nunca vi isso em nenhum que me hospedei.

NNicole Coomer¡Estancia perfecta! El hotel ofrece una bebida de cortesía a elegir, lo cual es un detalle muy agradable. La ubicación es excelente, justo frente a la playa, y nos proporcionaron sombrilla y sillas para disfrutarla cómodamente. Las camas son muy cómodas y todos los servicios del hotel funcionaron de maravilla. Sin duda, una experiencia recomendable.

AAdrian (London)The hotel is in a great location in the old town. It's only about a ten minute walk to the Buquebus Terminal. There are lots of shops and restaurants in the area. It's also close to some sights like the Cathedral.
There are buses on the street but I didn't use them. Instead I used Uber and Taxis. In this way it was easy to reach places like the Football Museum and the main Coach Station.
The Seaside walkway is close by as is a Museum and the famous La Faramacia Coffee Shop which is in an old Pharmacy.
Breakfast is good but apart from this the hotel has no facilities. Even the laundry service wasn't operating as the washing machine was broken.

RRingoDadThis hotel located in a very convenient location for tourists, right on the Plaza Independencia in the city center, walking distance to all the sightseeing sites, facilities are quite good, breakfast was above average, however if you want to go out for dinner after hour, there're very few dining options around, most restaurants closed before 8pm, even though Montevideo is generally safe, that area behind the hotel was dark and gave eerie feeling.

LLanaStar13Отель расположен прямо напротив вокзала. Очень удобно, поэтому и выбрала. Удобная кровать, белоснежное белье, чего не скажешь о полотенцах. Ну почему отели не предоставляют хотя бы одну маленькую бутылку воды?! Пришлось идти в супермаркет, тоже через дорогу. На завтраки можно сказать практически ничего нет. Тостовый хлеб, масло, джем, один вид нарезки сыра и ветчины, кофе, молоко, сок и мюсли. Не было ни овощей, ни фруктов, ни йогуртов. Выпечка 2-3 вида абсолютно безвкусная. Омлет просить надо. Иначе бы вообще осталась голодной. Переночевать можно, но завтраки точно не рекомендую брать.

EEvan WilliamThe hostel was well located in the old city. It was very close to museums and shops. The building is old and beautiful. I stayed in a single and it was very spacious. I have only two complaints: the perfume on the cleaning supplies (on linens or otherwise) was overwhelming. The first night, I woke up and I could taste it. The other complaint is about the state of the carpet and couch. Both were pretty stained and not well-maintained.
The above said, it was a nice stay. The room was big, the staff were friendly, and it was very well located. I would recommend this to a traveler looking to save a little money.
