Really enjoyed our stay at Midtown Apartments. We arrived out of hours but had clear instructions sent to us prior to our arrival to gain access to our apartment. The apartment itself was spacious & comfortable & exactly as described. It was a really central but quiet position to explore all Barcelona had to offer. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Barcelona.

Considering this is 2* it was perfect for our needs. It’s location is good - close to arc d’triomph metro/train station so easy to get from airport but not so busy that it’s noisy at night. Most things are walkable in 30 ish mins but if that’s not your thing the metro is 5 mins away. 2 supermarkets within 2 mins. Good kitchen facilities (oven, 2 ring hob, fridge/freezer, stovetop coffee machine, pans etc). Staff are helpful and there was a safe operated with the room key. On check out they stored our bags till late afternoon. Beds comfy enough and we did eventually figure out how to turn the dubbing off the tv so we could watch a couple of things in English. Would stay here again

I booked Murmuri Residence Mercader after reading so many good reviews about it. But, for the first time since I first traveled as a child in 1970, I was let down. Really let down by my experience here. Firstly, let me be clear that any member of staff that I engaged with face to face and on the phone were really very nice and approachable. However, they were unable to assist in making my stay more comfortable. We arrived on New Year's eve from the airport on the third leg of our European Christmas trip by taxi to Murmuri Residence Mercader. The gates to the property were locked. I pressed the intercom, but it went unanswered. Thinking that I was at the wrong location I walked around the block looking for another entrance. There wasn't one. When I arrived back to the locked gate, a gentleman arrived from the laneway and opened the gate for us. We went inside and were instructed to check in at a remote kiosk. It took some time as it wouldn't recognise my passport card for quite some time. Frustrating. When we were checked in, the rep who let us in told us we would be staying at a different location which was about five minutes walk away. His english was poor, but better than my Spanish, but we managed to communicate. He took us a few blocks away to another laneway. We were brought into an apartment building directly opposite a nightclub. The apartment was nothing like we saw advertised by the Murmuri Residence Mercader. This was a total downgrade. The floors were worn. The toilet door wouldn't stay closed. The door to the bedroom had paper stuffed in the lock receiver preventing the door from locking. The windows to the outside wouldn't lock securely. The plug on the hair dryer heated up so much that I burnt my hand unplugging it. There was a coffee machine, but no coffee pods. There were no teabags nor complimentary water. Nonetheless, as it was late, we decided to deal with the issue in the morning. Being New Year's eve we wanted to bring out 8 year old to the Magic Fountain for the celebrations. It would be her first time to usher in the new year. The first night was a real eye-opener. The apartment was so badly sound -insulated that it was like our beds were in the nightclub opposite. This went on until about 5am, after which the waste disposal companies moved in and started to empty bins fill of glass bottles. It was a totally sleepless night. The reason we booked Murmuri Residence Mercader was for the quiet location. They put us in the noisiest location possible. I went around to the Murmuri Residence Mercader premises to try and sort out this unacceptable downgrade. However, they told me that there was nothing that they could do as they were booked out. So basically, I had to suck it up and just get on with it. I did contact the hotel company once again at the end of our stay. Their only response to my issue was that they are not responsible for noise outside their premises. The noise would not have been an issue if we had

Personnel très accueillant, aimable et très arrangeants. Merci à Eduardo pour ses bons conseils et bonnes idées de visites. On y a séjourné 8 nuits avec les enfants. Je recommande cet Hôtel qui est très propre et bien situé au centre ville, proche de tous (Restaus, Commerces, Bus, Métros...) de plus n'est pas très chers. Il y a un Solarium! Pas de piscine, c'est un bassin de 80cm de profondeur pour les enfants (Photos trompeuses sur ***********). Merci à toute l'équipe car nous avons passé un séjour agréable en famille.
