Despite being located a short stroll from Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia where the square is packed daily with visitors, the location of the apartment has the feel of a pleasant residential location, the entry to the apartment is off a broad, paved, tree lined boulevard , local shops and outdoor coffee lounging. A view of the upper portion of the Sagrada from the balcony. From T1 or T2 of Barcelona’s El Prat airport take the Metro Line L9S (Sud) to Collblanc, change to the L5 Blue metro line - destination metro Sagrada Familia. The metro ticket cost from the Airport is €5.15 Single, called the Billete Aeroporto or Airport Ticket. On the morning of our arrival we took advantage of our location to explore around the Sagrada Familia, then stock up on grocery items and tasty delicacies from the market. Several small supermarkets and bakeries around the area, and a larger, well stocked Mercadona Supermarket (chain) a couple of blocks to the north west. Be aware that in Spain most supermarkets and shops are closed on a Sunday, the odd corner store may be open. A 20 minute walk through the suburbs there is also a great indoor market - Mercat de la Concepcio a remodelled indoor market with 19th-century origins. The next day we each purchased a T Casual Ticket, valid for 10 metro journeys cost €11.35. (A single journey metro ticket costs €2.40) The T casual ticket does not include travel to/from the airport.
