Lovely hotel that made our journey and evening so much better. Originally booked another hotel but it was so dirty and staff was so rude, had to leave and find an alternative late at night. Thank you for accommodating our last minute booking!
The bed is super comfy, cosy room and friendly staff. Would come back again if we are visiting Bath again :)

Had an overall pleasant stay. Check in wasn’t till 4PM but we arrive early at 12PM to store our luggage. The reception staff kindly told us that our room was ready if we wish to check in early. Thank goodness as we had a long train journey and my 87 year old nan was with us.
The room was smaller than I expected. This was surprising as this was a four star hotel and we booked a family room. It looked like a standard single room with a queen bed and a single sofa bed squeezed into it. It has a small fridge, a safe but no desk which was odd. The room comes with an iron and hairdryer which was convenient but no slippers or bathrobe which I also found odd for a high end hotel. The room only had two mugs and cups, and coffee and tea for only two people. There wasn’t much option for the tea and coffee, just the standard English and Nescafé. No free bottles of water was provided either. The bathroom toiletries only had the usual shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion.
The breakfast was buffet style. The options were decent. Nothing impressive but it was tasty. There was a waffle maker but the line was always so long so wasn’t really worth it.
The staff were nice and professional so no complaint. I liked that there was a smart machine that lets you order a taxi. Even though we never had to use it, I thought it was smart and convenient.
Overall, good stay but not sure it was worth the money.

Sumptuous would be the word to describe this hotel. From the lobby to the room to the free snacks pantry, everything is sumptuous. The room we booked is absolutely huge with high ceilings and large windows. The bed and bedding is super super comfortable and we slept really well. The bathroom is nice with a big tub. Location is also excellent, minutes from downtown, the bridge and Roman baths. Looking forward to staying here again.

At first check-in, staff said my booking’s payment was failed, I showed my booking confirmation with clearly stated payment successful, then he printed a confirmation for me to sign but I found that’s another one’s booking… totally another name…
The 2nd print out was just showing my name without another personal information and I was told it’s okay to sign…
Once I entered my room, there’s no bath tub, I called the concierge and claimed that when I booked this room type, photo clearly showed there’s bath tub and that’s why I chose this more expensive room type, staff just told me only Superior King room type offered bath tub…
When I tried to take a shower, there’s no shower gel & face tissue in the toilet… what a big surprise that a so called 4 stars hotel could provide such service standard…
I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone going to BATH for a visit…
And what’s more, this is my Birthday trip with more than 3 hrs drive from the North, they really gave me a BIG surprise!!

We booked directly, in January, with the hotel taking up an offer for our March stay. This is a 5 star hotel and we upgraded our room a few days before arrival. The room was lovely with a comfortable 4 poster bed and all facilities as expected. Breakfast was not as we had expected for a 5 star hotel. We had to choose a time to eat, did the earlier people have all the yoghurt? By the time (8.45) we arrived we were scraping the bottom of the deep jar and our cooked breakfast was a meagre portion. The potato cake was very thin, like cardboard, a single thin rasher of bacon and a slice of mushroom. Thank goodness I asked for a grilled tomato! We had to ask for toast that 1st morning. The coffee pot was barely enough for one, we had to ask for more! We had booked to eat in the Vellore Restaurant for my birthday but decided to cancel this, as seemed expensive and breakfast had put us off! So we chose to eat from the bar menu instead, taking the meal in the lounge. Unfortunately the room was pretty cold, we heard other guests complaining about this. Guests can ask for fresh milk to go with the complimentary tea and coffee, but be aware a tiny jug of milk is £6. However the staff were friendly and extremely helpful and the hotel is well situated for the town.

Its meant to be a luxury-ish short weekend getaways before my job starts as my partner can't take a long leave.
The delux double room is a huge disappointmemt.Understably, it is a very premium location and other guest probably pay a lot more. However, I wouldn't think of paying over £300 to get a room feeling like a old day servant's room. Being placed at the roof extension room with the view mostly blocked, the floor makes the typical old wooden cracking noise as we walk. The curtain, carpet and bathroom are not in the best condition. The glass on top of the table and desk are not well fitted.
Another thing is that, without any previous notice, the spa closed foe maintenance the morning we leave. The fake plants make it look less luxury than its branded.
The plus side, it is kind of inclusive which the spa pool, gym and breakfast are included. The breakfast is quite nice if you like English breakfast or they have some basic buffet.

Lovely old fashioned hotel, it was a bit of a trek from the lift to our room at the top but worth it for the view from the window. Breakfast was very good and beautifully presented. The staff were very polite and completely unobtrusive. Will definitely stay there again.

JjialyuOn arrival we were welcomed at the front door and asked by the owner Toni if we required help with our luggage, which he obliged with He gave us a full description of our surroundings and the facilities in our room Our room was immaculate, well equipped with everything we needed, also a very comfortable bed On our table /desk we were adequately supplied with a very good selection of tea, coffee , biscuits etc and also presented with a lemon tart , this was replaced the following day with 2 pieces of shortbread after our room and been cleaned In the morning we sat in a clean, well organised dining room and presented with what I can only describe as the best breakfast we have ever tasted Cooked and served in a timely manner by Toni, we could not fault it During our stay he informed us that he was on his own over the weekend, but this was never even noticed as he went about his duties impecably, so goodness knows what an extra pair of hands would have achieved. Everything about Chestnuts House is outstanding and made our stay in Bath absolutely perfect.

AAdesolaBathen House is simply phenomenal from the mixture of old and modern aesthetic that screams class, elegance and luxury to the squeaky clean, serene environment and the oh so polite staff that were always available to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible. It was such a remarkable experience and I would definitely go back again. I absolutely loved my stay at Bathen House and I swill always recommend. It was the best Easter Holiday and Experience.

PPengguna TetamuIt was an amazing experience. The hotel was clean and the staff was phenomenal. The only thing was that the main guy at the front desk was not welcoming after many encounters. The breakfast was great too and the bed was extremely comfortable. Do be aware that late checkouts after 12PM will be a charge of 15£, which is not ideal for some travelers. Overall a great stay and an amazing location.

6610kayleighf4 of us (two couples) stayed in the penthouse on valentines day. 2 days before our visit, the host takes an additional £250 security deposit on top of what we already paid which was just under £400. I was not overly happy considering the price we have already paid in full but obviously it had to be done. Because of this security deposit I made it very clear to the host that I would be doing my own inspection of the property as soon as we arrive to ensure we would be getting the deposit back. However, upon our inspection there was A LOT of things wrong with the place considering the money. I sent a total of 11 photos of things that were wrong to the host within half an hour of arrival. But that wasn't even everything as I just wanted to enjoy our time away instead of having to check every single damaged thing. Some of these things included a broken window being held up by a towel, water leak marks on most of the ceilings, a leak from the roof top velux, cracked/chipped cupboards, chewing gum on a picture frame, a cigarette burn hole in a chair (which if they smell smoke when you depart this will cost an additional £150 on top. Which is fair enough but I'm sure its at the hosts discretion), the shower tray doesn't hold the water so that leaks, hair in the shower. The other couple couldn't sleep due to a constant dripping noise from god knows where. The hot tub was the main reason for our visit. With 360 views of Bath, it was beautiful, there was no real issue there. However, when I walked around the hot tub to be able to remove the cover, I fell through the decking. This piece of decking was simply just placed within secure pieces so you would never see it. So beware of that! Again we were made aware there was no lift but not told how tall the building actually was, so if you have respiratory issues please be aware. All in all, the stay was fine! But I wouldn't pay that kind of money again knowing I'm at risk of an additional £400 if they so wish to take it from you. And purely because of the standard I was expecting, it just didn't cut it really.

PPengguna TetamuNice clean room, river view, breakfast was full service- eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, marmite, section of butter, honey and jams as well as yogurts. No cheese and fresh fruit which would have been nice to have. We have a fan in our room and the weather was delightful. We also enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant which- we ordered pork ribs and chicken Ceasar salad(too good as they char grilled the lettuce). Will definitely come back!

PPengguna TetamuPositives - excellent receptionist (Vipin) and without his help I would have probably checked out early. Has parking. Reasonable location and access into central Bath. Has an electric kettle and a pack of cookies.
Not so positives - In desperate need of upgrade, creaking floors, wash basin outside the bathroom. It isn’t for work related travellers as you cannot even use an iron without tripping off the entire building main switch and once that happen there is no 24 hour active reception. No fan or iron provided in room so you have to ask. Tiny computer monitor used as a make shift TV that you have to pull out of a closet. No drinking water in room. Value for money not there as many better locations available at same or lower price.

PPengguna TetamuI slept one night (25-26 November 2023), alongside with two friends. The location is perfect. The dormitories were fine, the temperature was perfect and the beds were clean and comfortable. However, the windows really need to be replaced, because they are way too thin, resulting in poor noise insulation. While I was trying to sleep, the dormitory was quiet, but I could not sleep well because of the noise coming from street (especially drunk people shouting loudly), which was as strong as if a window was wide open. The bathroom was perfect with showers, toilets and taps. It's the perfect deal if you want to visit Bath for one night or two, acknowledging that you will stay in the hostel only to sleep. I would also advise the hostel to tell its customers on the booking description that they bring a padlock with them to lock the storage cages located under the beds. Because on their own description they just say that they sell padlocks, but don't explain why. I always have one in my backpack, so I could lock my stuff, but it was not the case of my two friends, who therefore took their backpack in town with them.
