For years we had heard about the Members Fest event and how fantastic it was. People spoke of Special dinners, beautiful welcome gifts, and full-on excellence in service where even the smallest details were attended to. Given the high praise we had heard, our expectations were sky-high. We were absolutely blown away by the uncompromising commitment to excellence, the tireless effort of the staff, and the continuous stream of undeniably amazing activities. We’ve never seen anything like it. We arrived exhausted when our plane landed without incident at the Punta Cana Airport. We had been working our way through airports and connecting flights for around 12 hours but were immediately met by a smiling face holding a placard with our name on it as we exited the jetway bridge. The cheerful young lady escorted us through the airport, bypassing many long lines for customs and immigration. She sat us down in a nearby lounge, offered us a drink, and darted off to grab our luggage. 10 minutes later she returned with our bags. At that point, she escorted us through security to our private transport to the hotel. It took around 30 minutes from “wheels down” to sitting in the back of the black Suburban heading to the hotel. To our surprise Charles and Camilla were waiting for us, offering warm greetings and extending their sincerest gratitude for our arrival in the DR. OK, maybe not, but it sure felt that way. We were treated like royalty. On a side note, Deilis is an absolutely beautiful soul. We knew her from previous stays at the resort and she is nothing short of amazing, ensuring everything is taken care of. If she were a Himalayan sherpa leading you to the top of Mr. Everest, you would arrive feeling great with plenty of time for pictures and a nice lunch waiting. Getting back to the room, we stayed in a master suite swim-up, which is a first-floor room that walks out to a pool. The room was magnificently decorated in a modern décor with marble counters, wet bar, and adorned with generous gifts that included hats, shirts, a beach bag, wine, and a lovely snack tray that featured Dominican chocolate. The luggage arrived and we put away our items as Deilis bid us farewell, after she gave us the information for the welcome dinner on the beach Monday evening. In preparation for the welcome dinner, the staff completely transformed the beach area at the adjacent Paradisus Palma Royal resort. Two massive buffets, a dance floor, a stage, tables, and multiple bars were perched on the sand. We were greeted by many staff members offering to take photos. Dinner included lobster, Dominican barbecue, a
