Hotel di Kawasan Houhai, Beijing

It’s a small hotel right on a busy tourist alley next to the Drum tower & Qianhai + Houhai Lake. There are plenty of food and souvenir stalls just next door but beware of tourist traps. It’s best to ask the staff for recommendations via WeChat. The metro station is a 3 minutes walk away and some of the nicest Hutongs are just across the main road. The room we stayed in was tiny but had everything we needed. As a bonus we had a direct view to the drum tower + bell tower (in a distance), which was quite nice. Please be aware that some rooms smell awfully after cigarette smoke, so make sure to inform the staff beforehand if you’re a non-smoker to avoid surprises.

Highly recommend this Hutong Hotel, with a style full of old Beijing cultures. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Yu who was kind and helped us a lot. The Shadow art performance was very nice and the kids got chance to try out themselves afterwards. The location was near to a lot of famous places, walkable distance to Prince Gong Mansion (highly recommended), Beihai Park, Huguosi temple, Houhai night street, Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall etc. Very nice experience in Beijing.

體驗北京胡同，非常安靜，乾淨。預訂的房間很小，加錢升級了帶窗户稍大點的房間。 離地鐵口不遠，附近有小吃街，很方便。

We have already stayed in Nostalgia hotel chain and this hotel also proved that I made the right choice To chose them for our 5 nights stay in Beijing. The hotel’s location is great, next to subway, in a hutong with local food stalls where you can actually see the “real life” away from tourist crowds. At night it was very quiet. Having direct metro line to south train station was very convenient for us. Most importantly, they are very service oriented, we were very impressed: we had a small issue during checkin because of laundry (they do laundry for free but they said they don’t accept socks and underwear which was very inconvenient for us as we are on the road since a while.) and 5 minutes later an employee came to our room to inform us that they talked with their manager and they found an alternative to handle all our laundry and they also offered us free breakfast coupons to apologise. At the end we stayed in the comfort of Nostalgia chain, we had their great breakfast for free and our laundry was done in the same day.

Servis memang sangat bagus, cuma kaunter penerimaan tetamu hanya ada seorang staf wanita, dan dia agak sibuk juga. Teh petang yang disediakan sangat menarik, saya suka. Persekitarannya juga unik dan istimewa. Akhirnya dapat juga saya menginap di sebuah siheyuan di lorong Beijing seumur hidup saya, sangat berpuas hati! Tetapi, sebagai sebuah siheyuan, ruang memang agak terhad, jadi bilik dan bilik air agak kecil. Selebihnya, memang tiada apa yang boleh dikatakan, hiasan dalaman bertemakan Neo-Cina yang baru direka juga sangat teliti dan menepati cita rasa umum. Saya tidak sengaja terpadam gambar-gambar hotel, jadi hanya boleh muat naik gambar-gambar kawasan sekitar.

Very good location near Gulou Dajie subway station. Nice courtyard that made me feel like going back to the Ming dynasty era. The best part is the staff. All staffs are very friendly and helpful. They helped me in transportation, ordering food delivery, recommending many interesting places and Hutong. Their recommendations are very helpful to save my time and effort in the heat in Beijing summer. The service is world class. Highly recommended!

The hotel looks very interesting and authentic on the outside, but in reality, it didn't meet our expectations at all. The room was not clean at all and very dusty. Don't try to wipe anything with a tissue or you would be disgusted. There isn't much space inside if you have big luggages. The breakfast was good and the girl working at the reception was very nice. The location is central and located in the hutongs of Beijing. In general the room does not justify the price paid, so I sadly wouldn't recommend this place.

This little hotel is in the heart of a hutong neighborhood and conveniently located near the metro (Ping An Li) station and busses. The staff are super friendly, helpful and efficient. The place is immaculately clean at all times. Wifi is excellent and there is plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower. It is definitely a wonderful hotel to stay and enjoy the city.

曾經的王府，如今可以入住的四合院，離南鑼鼓巷很近，非常鬧中取靜，將經理的安排發給朋友，朋友説：感覺像大活動，觀影體驗絕佳，環境音效，露台餐正好趕上晚霞，讓人流連忘返，餐廳主管不光安排美食，還幫忙留下美景，一直有的四合院情節，完美！

Perfect for what we needed. Small rooms but we we’re in them much. Clean and good sanitary equipment provided.
