Couldn't fault this hotel. Absolutely brilliant, great central location and 2 mins from the train. Staff where great, room was spotlessly clean. Perfect night away.

A friend and I visited the Culloden Estate Spa on Sunday for a catch up. We decided to go for the Spatisserie option. When we arrived we were shown around the spa area and told that our afternoon tea had been arranged and booked for 2pm and that we needed to be back from the relaxation room for that time. We both booked the massage which was absolutely amazing we were both in agreement that the therapists were fantastic and unfortunately that's where it all ended. We were shown to the relaxation room after our treatment and all we could hear was constant banging outside of doors opening and closing and kids screaming, it certainly was not relaxing at all. We made our way back to the pool area where we confirmed that we were there for our 2pm afternoon tea and the waitress said she would go and collect it now and bring it down from the hotel. So she appeared back with no afternoon tea and then went and spoke with another colleague for about 15 minutes before approaching us to be told that the hotel has a big function on and that it would be another 15 minutes so we said ok. So another 15 minutes went bye and in-between that time a couple had ordered food and sat down. So the waitress headed up again to which I thought was to collect our afternoon tea. She came back down with the food for the others instead. At this stage it was 40 minutes since the agreed time and I started to feel quite sick as I hadn't eaten since 8am that morning. The waitress still never attempted to come over and apologise again and just stood chatting to another colleague. Then finally at 2:55pm the afternoon teas came down and were taking into the Zest bar area and we heard a microwave start to go and then ping several times. After about another 5 minutes it finally came out to us. An hour late at this stage we thought better late than never and thankfully enough we had nowhere to be. We were offered a drink on the house because of the lateness. So we started to eat it and I had gone for the vegan option which was terrible. The soup had hot spots in it which I burnt my mouth on. The sandwich which had avocado in it was not ripe and hard. I couldn't even cut into the scones they were rock hard. At that point I didn't even attempt to eat anything else it was such a poor standard. My friend had the regular afternoon tea and it wasn't great either although she did say her scones were lovely. At no time did anyone check to see was everything ok. We came away very disappointed with the food and the service. We really did expect more.
