Easy walking distance to variety of restaurants and attractions - la citadelle, porte noire (and other Roman artifacts), maison natale de Victor Hugo, the horloge astronomique (not worth the visit as it hasn't and won't be working for a long time), Place Castor, walks along the river, etc. Small continental breakfast. Limited parking in the rear of the hotel (make sure you book ahead). Tight access to parking (so have a small car) and hard to find entrance around the corner from the hotel entrance. Nice view over the rooftops of the city.

Hotel is only a short walk from the main square, shopping streets, restaurant area and the river. Buffet breakfast was a good start to the day and all the staff were helpful and friendly. My first stay in Besançon and I'd gladly stay here again.

Trotz der sehr zentralen Lage relativ ruhig (gute Fenster), alles sehr sauber, Zimmer einfach aber ausreichend und mit kleiner Kitchenette, fairer Preis für die Garage - kann man sich merken! Dass die Gäste (auch) das Mülleimerchen im Bad leeren müssen, sollte allerdings unbedingt überdacht werden - zumal das nirgends vermerkt ist. Der entsprechende Hinweis bezieht sich nur auf den Küchenteil.

A première vue, on sent que l'hôtel n'est pas de toute fraicheur et les équipements un peu vieillot (lavabo bois abimé voir photo), le sol fait un peu ”hôpital” et le couloir des escalier n'est vraiment pas accueillant. Mais la literie est propre et confortable. Les 2 personnes de l'accueil que j'ai vu étaient vraiment sympathique et l'hôtel a l'avantage d'etre à moins de 5 min à pied de l'hôpital. Le petit déjeuner était bien et la salle lumineuse.

Sans surprise. Les campaniles sont tous configurés sur le même modèle. Mais le temps a fait son effet et les équipements sont un peu vieillots. Propreté de la chambre et de la SDB correcte sans être exemplaire. Insonorisation moyenne. Literie confortable et store efficace à la fenêtre qui permet de dormir dans le noir. Buffet de petit déjeuner très complet. Restaurant non essayé. Accueil moyen : dépend des interlocuteurs. Veilleur de nuit très professionnel, réceptionniste aussi. La femme qui s'occupe des petits déjeuners en revanche plutôt désagréable.

Glad we chose Mercure for our 4-night stay. For a 4 stars, the rooms are small. However the furniture, the beds are very good quality. Staff was polite and professional and friendly. Location is excellent! We enjoyed crossing through the park and a bridge to reach town within 5 minutes walk. The parking was a huge plus. Breakfast is offers great choice and has quality products. Staff very professional and courteous. Bathroom amenities are basic but good quality shower and shampoo. Nothing else. Do carry your own. Will definitely recommend this hotel and will return again.
