This place has the nice vibes of a traditional resort. Staff were largely polite, welcoming and friendly. There’s a large private beach area. However, my stay was marred by several issues. I booked a room with options for either a double bed or 2 twin beds. Upon arrival, I was told that there were no double beds available. I asked the staff if there’s anyone in a double bed room who’s checking out today, and told the staff I’m willing to wait if there is. She said there’s a guest in a double bed room who’s checking out that day, but she’s unable to “confirm”. She suggested that I take a room with 2 twin beds combined instead. Sensing that I’ve no choice, I reluctantly accepted it, and upon reaching that room, I saw the adjacent room with a double bed and the room looked vacant. I went back to the reception to ask if I could take that other room, and this time another staff took over and told me there’s a room with double bed for me but I have to wait for it to be ready. I agreed but felt perplexed why the first staff couldn’t have just told me the same thing. It’s not like I insisted on having a double bed room immediately, I already said I’m willing to wait. Another issue was the wifi. We all had problems connecting to the wifi, and when we finally got connected, the connection was often unstable. On the second night, there was a power failure and the electricity was out for several minutes. Overall, this is still a nice comfortable resort that makes a good getaway from the city. It will be even better if staff communication and wifi can be improved.

Italian food was fantastic, Local food was awesome too at Rica Rica restaurant, esp the chilli sauces! Breakfast were very tasty and butter for bread was very good quality. Staff were very friendly and helpful, game room was a good family bonding session with the facilities and board games provided, can kill a lot of time draining kids energy. Pool with very nice view to the ocean, very pleasant stay, oh and the little farm they have with the chickens ,goose and rabbits, so adorable!this is our second time there and will plan for the next trip soon!

Friendly staff . Beautiful location . Unfortunately it is monsoon so no water sports . Kudos to housekeeper Edi who make sure my room is clean and well supplied with water and ice cubes .Breakfast is delicious . Menu changes with new varieties . Had our dinner at Lotus cafe . Food is good too . Saffron at Banyan Tree is good too but expensive . Went to Banyan tree for spa . Excellent massage worth the money spent . Good trip for rest and relaxation . The downside that there is no shopping and everywhere is far . The TV reception is poor and could be improved .

Not the cleanest of resorts. Pantai Indah Lagoi has the makings of a 5/5 resort if not for the fact that there are stains in the sofa, curtains, carpets, chairs, bathtub and pillows. There are also some areas which are evident of wear and tear. Food is also subpar. However, service is top notch. Staff are all friendly and helpful with smiles all around. Private pool is also nice and gives a very chill vibe.

Zia is an exceptional individual at Banyan Tree, radiating friendliness and delivering impeccable service. Their warmth and dedication create an atmosphere where every guest feels valued. Excellent service in the resort. I asked if they could set up something complimentary for my mom's birthday and they did. A Happy Birthday banner and a small cake. Appreciate the effort. But the cake shall be improved in the texture, it's too dry. But still we are thankful. There's buggy service around the resort which makes it so convenient for my elderly mom with knee pain issue. The breakfast spread is good! On 27 July, we had a negative experience at a point. We booked a massage at D'Bintan massage outside the resort, with 2-way transport included. We booked 8.30pm and we were told to wait at the lobby area at 8.30pm. We were having our BBQ buffet dinner at The Patio, the spa girl stationed at the lobby came into the Patio restaurant, approached me at 8.20pm while we're still eating, and asked me if i booked the massage, i said yes. And she stood there looking at me. I looked at my watch and told her, i booked 8.30pm right? She looked at her watch and said ”ok yes 8.30pm” and left. Just 5 mins later at 8.25pm, she came to my table again and told me, the car is waiting outside already. At that point, i felt like she was rushing us to stop eating and go now, while we're still finishing up our food, which was quite rude. If its already 8.30pm and we're still eating, she can rush us. But we still have time to finish our food! Other than this, the stay and experience was all good.

Room is very practical: spacious layout & clean. Comfortable bed. Bathroom is large & clean. Food options are also practical: tasty/ well- prepared. Not a wide variety but sufficient. I suggest limiting plastic bottled water provision for large group functions.Undoubtedly, that's up to the consumer. But hotel can make a stand on this.

Amazing experience at Doulus Phos ship hotel. Staying on this amazing Guinness world record ship is definitely one for the books for me. I was once able to bought a book on this MV Doulus when it was sailing to sell books worldwide. The view, the amazing staff and the facilities are truly one of a kind. It was monsoon when we stay that’s why we didn’t manage to enjoy the infinity pool. We would like to come back to experience the outdoor movie with bonfire, the infinity pool and the sunset dinner. The food is great (“, ) and we truly love the amazing warm hospitality of the staff. Definitely we will be back with our family during summer time. It is a good place for family, friends or a retreat. The facilities is huge, a lot if possible activities that can be done and enjoy and not to mention that the tranquility. There is also a spa, it is still under soft opening and still undergoing for improvement but nonetheless it is worth every penny you have.

I have been here many times and every time I come back I feel relaxed, I enjoyed my stay here a lot. The food is good and the party is excellent. The hotel and its facilities are very nice. Here and there a few spots of improvements needed but otherwise a very attractive hotel with lovely features. A very pleasant stay starts with a dedicated lounge at the ferry terminal which is available upon arrival and departure (taking care of your visa and other requirements). Travel to the actual hotel is within short 20 minutes by hotel shuttle bus. You can chose between colonial style suites at the main building or near by or Thai/ Bali style villas on the large ground and a short walk away from the main building. The Thai villas are very nice, filled with all the necessary amenities and some top of the range products. Plenty of storage space, outdoor veranda seating and well kept exterior make it really nice. At the main section, the pool is with its 50 meter in length a true highlight, together with the very easy and close proximity to the pristine and huge beach section. Although facing north, the beach is actually in a bay and can be explored for hours. Also well worth mentioning is the spa which provides truly amazing treatments administered by very experienced therapists who will truly pamper you from start to finish. Regrettably, there are also a number of shortcomings. Although the hotel provides insect repellant for your daily use, even the best of preventions and best of cleaning/ spraying efforts of the staff will not stop billions of sand flees attacking you on the beach, especially after rain or during the evening hours when you become their dinner. However, the biggest drawback is the food and beverage section. For a hotel operating in such a high price category, the restaurant is a true letdown perhaps even the sole reason for not coming back again. Yes staff everywhere is very friendly, attentive and making it their business to know you by your first name from the start, but the entire food and beverage section requires a lot of improvements to even get close to a star rated service. Yes the drinks are well made (guess can be expected at prices of US$20 plus) but the restaurant service truly lacks what it takes. The food, expensive as it is, lacks any sort of imagination, is void of any special touches, and surely does not represent Indonesian cuisine in any shape or form. As said, staff are very friendly and trying their best however, if they are not taught the basics or led by indifferent managers, then things need to change. Management comes from the top. In summary, if you are looking for a nice place to relax in a colonial style building, not too crowded with a lovely pool, then please try the Sanchaya. However, if you looking for cuisine which is anything but poor, not even ordinary, then you better look elsewhere.
