Stayed twice, nice hotel and grounds. Some staff friendly some not so. First time was May when there was no entertainment and you could get a sun lounger. Second time was Sept and everyone pegged towels the night before so never any available in the whole 9 nights we stayed, resulting in us having to go to beach to use loungers every single day which we didn't want to do but had no choice. Food for all inclusive in Bitez is OK, something for everyone daily, salads are lovely, fish dishes, meat dishes, and plenty snacks and ice cream through the day. Drink is hit and miss and no one cocktail is ever the same, they just slap anything into your beaker. Some people on reception are friendly, some not overly helpful. They do an A la carte evening in an upstairs restaurant, unless you enquire you'd not know about it. First time we went one of guys from bar came and asked us if we would like to go, the second time nobody did so had to ask if we could book. I would not really say it was geared to kids, there is a water slide going into the other pool at top part or hotel ground but that's it, a kids room with a few cushions inside and a very small play area but no kids club. The walk up to main restaurant is not great for elderly or people with disability's at all. Some evenings it would be a struggle to get a table once you have selected your food. First time we stayed the sheets were changed daily, second time we had to ask for them to be changed and they only changed them once in 9 nights. Beds are very firm so bare this in mind. There are coffee and tea stations where you can get a drink from around 10am to 10pm then they get switched off. I think they need to possibly add more loungers (but doubt there would be room) and more tables to restaurant areas during peak season-it was very crammed. The grounds are very nice and have mature plants growing everywhere and climbing all around the buildings which is nice to look at. The hotel I believe has had a refurb so the décor is very boho with lots of nice decorations here and there. There are fridges in room and water in there for arrival, try to request lower floor as the terraces are better. Many of the staff work very hard to make your stay a good one, some run around looking busy but have no time to stop and help you and can be quite grumpy. I cant remember his name (sorry) but the red haired young man who we spoke to both times staying needs to be promoted or similar, his English is great, he is very well mannered and he goes above and beyond helping. Very cheerful and brings an up beat presence to Paloma! It is a bit of a walk to and from the main part of beach and shops set away from the hustle and bustle, you do feel safe here and only one way in or out and somebody on reception 24 hours a day. Perhaps if they built a stage type area for the odd entertainment they put on it would make it more fun. They allow you to pay extra to keep a room on if you ask and they have availability if you
