It was my brother's wedding this December and being the youngest member in the family I wanted to make it happen the best way possible. Since I stay in Pune, planning the wedding from here was next to impossible but some friend of mine suggested me Hotel Anand International. I contacted Mritunjay ji and told him my situation. A very good hotel within close vicinity from the mahabodhi temple. A large premise with swimming pool and lots of greenery. The rooms are quite spacious and have good connectivity and a smart tv and minibar. To top it up they have a good restaurant and friendly staff all of this at a budget pricing makes it a good deal. The only negative i found was that they don't have elevators which could have made it a full package. Still they have a multi-staircase design with low height of steps so not much difficult for climbing but for the luggage.

Rooms are basic but comfortable and spotlessly clean. Bathroom was spacious, clean, plenty of hot water. The only negative is that there was no shower enclosure, so when you took a shower, most of the bathroom floor got wet. We had a very good, inexpensive, vegetarian thali for dinner and a substantial breakfast (included in the nightly rate. The hotel is a training venue for young men hoping to get into the hotel business. They seem to be generally responsible for the daily functioning of the hotel and they provide friendly and excellent service. I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to bodhgaya.

Hotel Niranjana is way better than I expected. At this price point it is one the better hotels in Bodhgaya. The hotel is very close to Mahabodhi temple, in fact you can just walk to the temple. The room was decent sized with ample space, a luggage rack was there which was good, two cushioned chairs with centre table makes it nice for sitting and having your tea. Electric kettle with required tea bags and coffee sachets was functional, linens and towels clean, strong AC, sleep quality good. Toilet decent sized, some rooms had a bathtub with stand-in shower. Food quality in restaurant was very good. All foods were freshly prepared and served. We loved the paneer with green peas and chicken bharta. Breakfast was included in the rate but there was no buffet. It was served ala carte. Staff in restaurant was very polite and always smiling. Front office person Mr. Sanjeet Sharma was very courteous and helpful. In short, a good place to stay in Bodhgaya near the temple.
