I had a very unpleasant experience with the hotel and their air conditioning system. The aircon was not working at all and I had to rely on a small fan in the room to try and keep cool. This made me wonder if the hotel was aware of the issue but wanted to see if they could get away with it.
I reported the issue to the hotel staff several times, but each time I was given the same answer - they will reset the system so I should go back to the room, turn the aircon unit off and on and wait for 15 minutes. They claimed that this would reset the system and fix the problem. However, this solution did not work and I found myself constantly sweating in the hot and stuffy room.
Despite being patient and understanding, the hotel staff did not seem to take the issue seriously. They offered to change my room, but only on the condition that I move immediately, as the hotel was fully booked. When I asked the staff to have a look at the air conditioning unit again, they simply responded that "sometimes it doesn't work." This indicates to me that they knew about the issue before giving us the room, which is completely unacceptable. When I brought it up, the hotel staff became defensive and rude. I don't understand why they would treat their customers in such a discourteous manner, especially when we were simply asking for a basic service that we paid for and deserved. To make matters worse, I overheard several other customers complaining about their own broken air conditioning units.
I paid good money for a comfortable stay, but instead, I was left feeling hot, uncomfortable, and dissatisfied with the service provided. I hope the hotel management takes these issues seriously and makes an effort to improve their facilities and customer service in the future.
