There's a dumpling shop downstairs that's affordable and tasty. We traveled during the National Day holiday, so there were lots of people, but the hotel is right on a pedestrian street, making it very convenient for exploring the surrounding area.

This hotel is really, really good! The location and service are both top-notch! I hesitated a lot because it was a bit pricier than I expected (it was National Day, so there was a premium), but it was truly the best choice I made! First, the accommodation! It was clean and the view was amazing. I arrived early for check-in and asked if they could give me a room with a good view. They found me the best view room comparable to the one I paid for 😆 Next, the location! Nanjing East Road and People's Square are right in front, which was great for tours (many meeting points are at People's Square) and shopping. Plus, many famous restaurants (hot mala ban on social media, Lu Xuxu butter cakes, crab roe and shrimp dumplings, milk tea, etc.) delivered, and a robot brought the food to my door, allowing me to try a variety of dishes. It saved so much time, it was amazing! The staff's service was also excellent. They helped with my luggage and were incredibly kind. Thank you! Oliver and Riley are the best! I'll definitely come again.

I really have to commend Tristan at the front desk. I had a very unpleasant experience during check-in, and I was feeling quite upset. But because of the wonderful Tristan, a very lovely lady, who was gentle, attentive, and had such a kind attitude, what was originally a very frustrating situation became much more bearable thanks to her comforting words. I could truly feel that she genuinely cares about the guests, and she was both professional and empathetic. Many thanks to Tristan. Because of her, for all my future stays in Shanghai, I will only choose Marriott Executive Apartments.

I stayed at the Pullman Jing'an for a business trip, and the experience far exceeded my expectations. The hotel boasts a prime location right in the Jing'an Temple commercial district, with the subway station just steps away. Getting to West Nanjing Road or Hongqiao is very convenient, and there is an abundance of dining options in the surrounding area. The lobby has a modern and grand design, and check-in was very efficient. The room offered an expansive view, and the bedding was exceptionally comfortable—a lifesaver for overcoming jet lag or recovering from intense work. The breakfast spread was extensive, featuring both Western pastries and a live noodle station for fresh Chinese noodles, making it a perfect start to the day. This will definitely be my top choice for my next trip to Shanghai!

My friend was only staying in Shanghai for a day, so naturally, I wanted to give her an itinerary that offered both 'old-world charm and new-age chic.' While passing Nanjing West Road recently, this InterContinental 'Luxury Collection' hotel immediately caught my eye. And just as I expected, critical as she is, she complimented my taste the moment she walked in. Its most appealing features are its convenient location and its ability to be a tranquil oasis amidst the bustle: step outside, and you're on the vibrant Nanjing Road; turn around, and you're in the quiet serenity of a residential area. My friend said the elevator decor instantly made her feel like she'd 'traveled through time,' and that unique 'Haitian style' evoked long-lost memories of Shanghai. She had originally come to sightsee but happily spent most of her day lingering at the hotel. What she loved most were the terrace and the restaurant. On a summer evening, the breeze felt just like those childhood nights spent cooling off in the alleyways – she used to live in a Shikumen house. She remarked, 'If only I could lie in a wicker chair, fan myself with a palm-leaf fan, eat watermelon, and watch an outdoor movie, that would be truly divine.' She also adored the red hanging ornament in the lobby; it was vibrantly bright, yet its glass texture gave it a lively feel, much like Shanghai's character – passionate yet steady, with a touch of lightness within its composure. The food did not disappoint either. I pushed her to try the Shiqipu Noodle Restaurant, where the owner asked in Shanghainese, 'Mi dao ai hao fa?' (Is the taste good?), and she smiled and replied, 'Authentic,' instantly tearing up. She specifically bought the sweet variety of butterfly pastries from the International Hotel – saying 'only sweet is truly Shanghai.' Her only regret was: having stayed in too many foreign-style grand hotels, this time, with Shanghai elements everywhere and Shanghai flavors in every bite, it was 'just missing the sound of Shanghai.' Perhaps the cicada chirps in the alleyways and the hawkers' cries from the Shikumen are the hometown sounds she truly yearns to hear. However, she has already declared: the next time she returns, this will be her chosen hotel, and she plans to visit all the routes I arranged. I believe the charm of Shanghai has never been in its superficial glamour but in its ability to always find the most fitting way to blend East and West, ancient and modern, living as a unique 'Haipai' (Shanghai style). This is also the root that every Shanghainese person cherishes. Below are the three half-day itinerary options I created for her, which I've also compiled here, hoping they might help someone else: Option 1 · A Stroll Through Old Shanghai Charm Start from the hotel's main entrance on Fengyang Road and turn into Huanghe Road. The Changjiang Building and Changjiang Theater were the last residences of Eileen Chang; Huanghe Road is the origin of 'Blossoms Shanghai' (Fan Hua). The International Hotel is where her mother and aunt once stayed; next to it, the Sports Museum is rumored to be where Eileen Chang used to study. Diagonally opposite is the History Museum (formerly the Racecourse); the East Wing houses the old bronze lions from the HSBC Building on the Bund, and the 'Echoes of Shanghai' exhibition in the West Wing happens to talk about the past of Fengyang Road. The ornate windows of the West Wing and the Changjiang Building, mirroring the hotel's architecture, perfectly showcase the most fashionable Art Deco style of the 1930s. Option 2 · Tracing Red Memories Walk along Chengdu North Road to the Secretariat of the China Labor Movement, to see how Shanghai workers united into a revolutionary force; then visit the former site of the Songpu Special Committee. Go to the Sihang Warehouse to hear the echoes of the Battle of Shanghai and see the bullet-riddled walls recount the tragedy of that year. At night, turn into Xiang Kang Li on Xinchang Road to find the former site of the CCP Central Committee's secret printing press; on Nanjing West Road, there is also the former site of the Soviet Liaison Office, where, amidst the flickering lights, memories of the past reside. Option 3 · Modern and Retro Collision The LV 'Big Boat' on Nanjing West Road is currently a popular spot for photos; after visiting, turn into Wujiang Road for shopping and dining, and further ahead is Zhangyuan Shikumen – where new trends emerge in old alleyways, perfect for capturing stunning photos. Though the day was short, the essence of Shanghai will give her much to savor. When she returns next time, we'll continue our journey.

Wonderful stay at Blossom House! The view of Pudong and its spectacular night lights from our hotel room was absolutely breathtaking. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Yu Garden, the Bund, the Huangpu River, and Nanjing Road. Breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of options that changed daily. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend Blossom House for anyone visiting Shanghai!

The room facilities were complete and well-maintained, but what truly stood out was the cleanliness. Every corner was spotless and tidy, and the bedding was so comfortable, ensuring a truly peaceful stay. The buffet breakfast on the first floor was genuinely excellent. The variety was impressive, offering both Chinese and Western options. The food was delicious, and the ingredients were fresh, catering to different tastes. I left breakfast feeling very satisfied. The location is definitely a highlight. It's incredibly convenient for getting around, and you can walk to the Bund in just a few minutes. It was perfect for an evening stroll to enjoy the stunning Bund night view, and it wasn't a long walk back to the hotel afterwards. This hotel is highly recommended for anyone visiting Shanghai. Overall, the value for money is exceptional. From the service, cleanliness, and dining to the location, I couldn't find a single fault. It was a truly comfortable and pleasant stay. It's within walking distance of Yuyuan Garden Metro Station, Yuyuan Tourist Mart, the Bund waterfront promenade, and Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. The hotel is adjacent to the Bund Center, whose lotus-shaped roof acts like a crown for the hotel, giving it a grand and recognizable exterior. The lobby atrium is a design highlight, featuring a 26-meter-high glass ceiling and a glass 'sky escalator' connecting the first to fourth floors, seamlessly integrating natural light – it's absolutely beautiful. The Lobby Lounge, located in the atrium, is surrounded by palm trees and flowing water, evoking a Southeast Asian vibe. It subtly encourages visitors to pause, enjoy the scenery, chat, and sip tea – truly a delightful way to live. While the guest rooms aren't huge, their overall layout is well-planned and facilities are comprehensive. The Heavenly Bed is truly captivating; the soft, delicate, clean, and skin-friendly bedding enhances a deeply immersive dream. Three floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic city views – the more you stay, the more you'll love it! The Stage restaurant offers a bountiful buffet breakfast, with both Chinese and Western options. The omelets are shaped like egg dumplings and taste great, the croissants are quite good, the tofu pudding is delicious, and the latte coffee is also pleasant. We didn't get to try the Chinese restaurant as it was hosting a wedding banquet. The hotel also has a full range of fitness equipment and an indoor heated swimming pool. It's a truly joyful experience to relax and unwind here.

This is our second time staying at this hotel! It’s a fantastic place with very friendly staff. We even had the pleasure of meeting Alena at the front desk, who speaks Russian. She gave us a detailed guide on how to access the 30th-floor Lounge bar, which was a complimentary gift from the hotel. Breakfast was top-notch as always, featuring a great variety of pastries, fruits, salads, porridge, and meats—even the pickiest guests will find something they love. Our room was on the 20th floor with a view of the Oriental Pearl Tower! It’s stunning both during the day and at night when the lights are on. The hotel once again delighted us with gifts: a branded teddy bear, a tote bag, and a bottle of wine. Such a lovely touch! If I visit Shanghai again, I will most likely stay at the Radisson Collection Hyland Shanghai 🫶🏻

The location is superb. Right opposite the main entrance is a lot of good restaurants. Just a few minutes walk to the metro station. Nanjing street was crowded at weekend night but no noise at all in the hotel. Right next to a police station so feel safety. Not a fancy, international standard chained hotel but overall it's a pleasant stay.

This is my second time staying at this hotel. I booked an executive twin room with my child. The room was clean, and its location right in the heart of Jing'an Temple makes dining and taking the subway incredibly convenient. I first booked it because of its proximity to Eileen Chang's former residence, Changde Apartment, and I booked it again because of its excellent location and service. My child particularly loves the hot spring pool here. We also ate several meals at CP Jing'an this time, which was very convenient. However, you need to watch the time when taking a taxi. I noticed during this trip to Shanghai that Jing'an Temple is really congested. Getting to the hotel was a constant jam, and the ride to the airport was also quite slow. The hotel breakfast is excellent! There's a wide variety, and I always eat too much. Check-out time is also very flexible; my flight was at 4 PM, and the front desk staff kindly extended our check-out to 1:30 PM, which was fantastic service. I'll definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Shanghai.

Two nights at The Langham Xintiandi. The hotel's location is its biggest advantage, within walking distance to Nanjing Road and Zhangyuan, and very convenient for exploring Xintiandi (for me, familiar with the area, and the cool autumn weather was perfect for 'city working'). We received welcome fruits upon check-in, a nice touch. However, the entrance lobby felt a bit cramped, which isn't entirely due to the plot size, giving a less-than-ideal first impression. The interior lounge area, though, is brilliantly designed. Unfortunately, I didn't have time for afternoon tea during this stay, but I'll definitely come back for it next time I need a break.

This stay was fantastic! The room was clean and tidy, and the front desk service was warm and attentive. A special thanks to the hotel for kindly arranging a late check-out for me, which made my trip much more relaxed without having to rush. The breakfast was very unique; the chef was full of energy and enthusiasm in the morning. They offered both special Shanghai delicacies and Thai-flavored breakfast, which was great! 👍 Overall, it offered excellent value for money, and I had a comfortable stay. I would definitely choose this hotel again next time.

The Chinese and Western breakfast spread is abundant, and the free purified water by the elevator is a thoughtful touch.

I booked a Bund-view room through the platform. I originally thought I'd only get a partial view, but the moment I opened the door, I was blown away by the scenery. The floor-to-ceiling windows look right out over the Huangpu River, offering breathtaking, panoramic views of both the Bund and Pudong skylines. The room was spacious, bright, well-laid-out, and featured comfortable bedding. Because my travel plans ended early, I arrived at the hotel around 12 PM on the day of check-in, and the staff graciously checked me in right away—such a thoughtful touch. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I’d love to bring my family here next time. My only minor regret was the breakfast; while there was plenty of variety, the food quality missed the mark. The selection of green salads was quite limited, and the hot dishes in particular were underwhelming. I hope to see some improvements by the time I stay again.

Had a fantastic National Day trip! The hotel's environment is great, and the stay was very comfortable. The room was tidied up perfectly, and there were thoughtful complimentary fruits and red wine. The scenery is lovely, and it's super cool down in the pit. The light show at night with the drone display was truly breathtaking 😆. Finally, a big thanks to our butler Bruce for his attentive service, promptly answering all my questions. I'd love to come back for a second visit! 😍😍😍

Service: A big commendation to the front desk duty manager who answered the phone and handled my issue on the evening of March 13th. There was a slight problem with my room type upon check-in, and the duty manager resolved it promptly and with a sincere attitude. Very satisfied!

The room was spotlessly clean, the mattress was comfortable, and the toiletries felt high-quality. The staff were friendly, and both check-in and check-out were seamless. There's also a common area with a lounge bar, perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. With tons of dining and shopping options nearby, it's ideal for both business trips and short stays. Overall, the experience was fantastic and well worth a return visit.

A true hidden gem in this modern high-rise. The hotel is in the same building as the Novotel – specifically, Citadines occupies floors 15 to 18. The check-in experience is an absolute 10/10: the team is incredibly welcoming, offering coffee, tea, and small pastries, plus there's a very pleasant coworking space. The rooms feel like compact studios with a kitchenette: microwave, washing machine, dryer, a full-sized fridge, and lots of storage. The bed and pillows are supremely cozy, and the shower… just wow! The water pressure is outstanding – truly a delight. The door goes from floor to ceiling, so steam from long, hot showers stays inside the bathroom. The sink area is a little tight, but perfectly fine for one or two people. Special shout-out: the magnifying mirror and the Japanese toilet – a real touch of luxury that I thoroughly enjoyed. This time was just a long weekend, and we had a fantastic, relaxing stay. The only small drawback: the metro is about 1 km away, maybe slightly farther. But the value for money is so excellent that what you save on the hotel more than covers a taxi ride. In fact, I had a 6:00 am train from Hongqiao and pre-ordered a Didi – it took just 15 minutes door to door, which was incredibly convenient for me. Considering how reasonable the price at Citadines already is, the Didi cost felt like nothing. That sealed the deal for me. This is my third time staying here, and it remains my go-to place in Shanghai. Highly recommended – I'll be back again soon.

Dining options are readily available; there's a Subway across the street on Nanjing Road, and a convenience store and a jianbing (Chinese crepe) stall just to the left when you exit. It's very convenient for families with children.

Fantastic! Excellent! Superb! My brother-in-law highly recommended this place, and I've stayed here with him many times before. Every visit is consistently excellent. The breakfast ingredients are fresh and delicious, just like the high-quality items you'd find at the Sam's Club next door. The unique large floor-to-ceiling screen windows offer a refreshing view of ”Zhaoxiang Sports Park.” It's incredibly convenient for swimming, fitness, parking, Starbucks, Sam's Club, the Outlets, and the high-speed rail. After downloading the app, using the AI smart lamp is very convenient. Just hand your phone to the front desk, and in a few minutes, it's all set up. This makes using the elevator, opening doors, and calling for services much easier and more hassle-free in the future. Hongqiao Hub Kaiyuan Manju, we're happy for every improvement you make!

This hotel surprises you with its amazing style. In the lobby, you're greeted by figures of characters from different movies and the tempting smell of popcorn. The staff is very polite and friendly. They helped me urgently order an extra suitcase, and I'm especially grateful for that. The room is very cozy and high-tech. In the center of the room there's a projector that you can use to watch movies. Cleaning is done every day. The hotel also has a robot. The location is great. The main tourist spots are within walking distance. There are also metro stations nearby. Not far from the hotel there are several grocery stores, restaurants, and bars.
