We found Maison Odeia to be a good base to sleep and discover Bordeaux. The location on a quiet side street and the very close tram stop are super, also on site parking is very good. We saw our lady host only once for a few minutes when we arrived, she gave us the key and shortly explained the house. The building has been renovated very nicely and also our room was bright and friendly with a large terrace. However there was not a single hook in the room or bathroom to hang a towel or a piece of clothing, no chair in the room and a large bathtub ( in addition to a large shower) taking away a lot of room space. We found the room to be very inconvenient. We were here during the heat wave, a bottle of water in the room would have been a nice. Don´t expect the charm and hospitality of a bed&breakfast, you never see the hosts. The place is always very quiet, almost uncomfortable during breakfast. The 2 young ladies who serve breakfast are friendly, but it´s so quiet they whisper to each other. Some music, flowers here and there, maybe some small goodies for the guests would be nice. We never chit chatted with the owners, no city map or tips where to go or eat. Nobody ever asked if we needed anything. What I really did not like, was that one morning we were served molded strawberries and twice the baguette was so old and dry, it was not edible. This place could be very pleasant if there was more attention to detail and if the owners ran it with more passion.
