positive: we had a room in the ground floor and therefore direct access outside from the patio which was comfortable as we travelled with our dog, the room had plenty of space negative: toilet urgently needs a makeover, breakfast is not as good as in other van der Valk hotels very negative: the walls are VERY thin - we found ourselves in between the rooms of a bigger group of people, who created a lot of noise in their rooms and in the hallways - we speak about until 2 am in the morning. I rang the reception twice between 1 and 2 am asking them to take care of the issue. After the 2nd call, our neighbours calmed down a little bit. However, we were not able to sleep until 2 am, even with ear plugs, due to the noise. As we left in the morning we seeked a conversation with the receptionist. She got notice from her colleague who was on duty the night before. However, he has only stated that he found no one who was noisy. Probably they think I rang the reception only to make fun at night! The receptionist gave us an apology and that was it. As a result, we didn't feel taken seriously. We will definitely not come back to this hotel as sleep is not guaranteed and customer service is not at a level we would expect.
