HHarmonickFor a truly memorable stay in Zermatt, look no further than the Traditional Julen Hotel. We travelled throughout Switzerland, and the view from our Matterhorn room was hands down the best we experienced. Waking up to that iconic peak every morning was simply breathtaking.
The service at the Julen is impeccable. The staff is incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to meet every need we had, making us feel truly welcome. Speaking of needs, be sure to grab a bite at their downstairs restaurant. The food is excellent, though the space is a little on the cozy (some might say claustrophobic) side. Don't let that deter you, though - the culinary experience is well worth it.
Overall, the Traditional Julen Hotel is a fantastic choice. Splurge on the Matterhorn room for an unforgettable view, and rest assured knowing you'll be taken care of by a truly exceptional team. Highly recommended!

PPengguna TetamuBeautiful hotel!! Even though hotel was a few streets away from the station BUT free shuttle service is available. Hotel service was so good including free consultation on activity planning in Zermatt. Would definitely go back to this hotel if I’m coming back to Zermatt in future!!

GGenesis.MYIt's within walking distance of Zermatt station and comes highly recommended for families with kids. The kids' club is very entertaining, and children can also enjoy the spa and pool. We will definitely return for a stay in a different season, as summer can be a bit too warm for staying in the room.

IIzzaPizzaThoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The excellent service rendered by the staff made our honeymoon much sweeter. Everyone was friendly, kind and always willing to help. Room was really nice and the extra sauna and open concept bathtub was a nice surprise! Breakfast spread was super delicious as well. Facilities like the wellness area include foot bath, infrared chairs, jacuzzi etc.

PPengguna TetamuI wish to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Hotel Bistrols from Dec 16 to Dec 17.
During my stay, I experienced an incident that left me quite unsettled. Around 20 mins after my check-in to the hotel, another group of tourists (think was a couple) was able to use hotel access card to access my room, we, both parties are shocked and super embarrassed. This situation raised significant concerns about the security protocols in place at the hotel. As a guest, I expect a certain level of safety. If the room was accidentally opened without my presence, I am not sure whether my belongings are going to disappear, this situation made me had just a light sleep throughout the whole stay.
The lack of adequate security measures not only compromised my sense of safety but also made me question the overall management of the hotel. In an age where guest security is paramount, I believe that Hotel Bistrols should prioritize ensuring that all rooms are properly secured and that guests feel safe throughout their stay.
A point to add is that the receptionist has poor attitude towards her service. The whole experience which I would not consider to give this hotel another try in future.
I hope that the hotel will take my concerns seriously and address these issues for future guests.

AAudthewayLokasinya betul-betul di tengah-tengah bandar, sangat mudah! Berdekatan dengan stesen utama Zermatt, serta stesen Gornergrat!
Pasar raya boleh ditempuh dengan berjalan kaki, malah terdapat banyak pilihan makanan seperti MacDonalds, makanan Barat, dan sebagainya.
Penyambut tetamu sangat mesra dan mesra malah melanjutkan tempoh daftar masuk awal apabila bilik tersedia.
Hotel ini secara keseluruhannya sangat selesa dan bersih, sesuai untuk penginapan singkat. Keperluan disediakan seperti sabun, tuala, pengering rambut, tisu! Cuma perlu diingat bahawa tiada peti sejuk di dalam bilik jika itu yang anda ingin tahu. Selain itu, penginapan yang sempurna!

Nestled high above Zermatt, the Riffelhaus 1853 is accessible via the Gornergrat railway, making the journey itself an adventure. Once you arrive, you’re greeted by panoramic mountain views in every direction, with the iconic Matterhorn standing proudly in front of you. The setting is perfect for ski-in/ski-out access in winter and stunning hiking trails in summer.
Rooms – 9/10
The rooms are cozy, modern, and well-equipped while still maintaining a classic Swiss alpine charm. Many rooms come with Matterhorn views, and waking up to this scenery is an experience in itself. The beds are comfortable, and the rustic wooden decor gives a warm, welcoming feel. Some rooms have balconies, which I highly recommend booking for the full experience.
Service – 9/10
The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive. Despite the hotel’s remote location, the service is top-notch, with staff going out of their way to accommodate special requests. From seamless check-in to helpful local recommendations, they make the stay even more special.
Dining – 8.5/10
The on-site restaurant serves delicious Swiss cuisine, including traditional dishes like fondue and rösti. The breakfast is generous, featuring fresh bread, cheeses, meats, and eggs cooked to order. The only downside is that, due to the remote location, dining options are limited to the hotel restaurant, but the quality makes up for it.
Wellness & Spa – 10/10
The outdoor hot tub with a view of the Matterhorn is an absolute highlight! There’s also a sauna and steam bath, perfect after a day of skiing or hiking. Soaking in the warm water while surrounded by snow-capped peaks is an experience worth every penny.
Activities – 10/10
Winter: Perfect for skiing, as the hotel is directly on the slopes. The ski room is convenient, and the access to the Gornergrat ski area is unbeatable.
Summer: Incredible hiking trails with direct access to the Gornergratbahn for easy excursions to higher altitudes.

Lokasinya agak jauh dari stesen kereta api Zermatt, tetapi sangat dekat dengan stesen kereta kabel, menjadikannya sangat mudah untuk pergi ke Glacier Paradise.
Bilik ini sangat luas dan selesa. Walaupun kemudahannya agak lama, ia mempunyai semua yang anda perlukan. Ia adalah hotel yang sangat selesa.
Terima kasih kepada kakitangan kerana menaik taraf bilik kami kepada bilik teres berkembar! Salah satu teres menghadap Matterhorn! Teres lain menawarkan pemandangan sungai.
Duduk di atas teres pada waktu petang, makan malam ringkas, menikmati pemandangan gunung dan bunyi air yang mengalir, ia sangat menenangkan. dan! Apabila anda bangun pada waktu pagi, anda boleh melihat matahari terbit keemasan di atas Matterhorn!
Sarapan pagi di sini juga sedap! Paling suka croissant mereka.

PPengguna TetamuZermatt is an expensive town so we were happy we could save a bit with the hotel. We were worried at first based on the reviews saying it was a bit noisy but we had no issues up on the higher floor we stayed on. We would recommend this hotel if you're staying for just a night or two and are looking to control your budget while in Zermatt because eating out and the activities here are expensive.
The room was just a place to sleep. We had two twin beds with slats underneath that were a bit loose and they fell out when I sat down but after we fixed it we found the beds to be comfy enough. The rooms are dated with older furniture and a mix of furniture and lighting. There was a small TV and a DVD player but we saw no need to use them with all the things to do and see in Zermatt. We did hear a little bit of noise from the bars at the street level but it wasn't too bad. If you get a lower floor you may want to consider bringing your own earplugs.
The bathroom was interesting. There was a pretty big jacuzzi style bath tub with a shower head attachment - I am tall and I had to sit down to shower but my shorter wife had no issues. The bathroom had a towel warming rack with an interesting extension to hang light clothing but it did not warm. The lighting was a little dim but the lights above the sink did not work and those would have helped.
The breakfast at the hotel was nice and they had a nice variety of fruit, breads, Swiss cheese and some hardboiled egg. They had juice, milk and could make coffee to order as well. The hotel had laundry machines and some popular restaurants on site.
The location is the best part about this hotel. It is a 5 minute walk to the train station and very centrally located. It is close to the Gornergrat Bahn, Matterhorn Museum and the church Eglise St. Mauritius. The viewing platform of the Matterhorn at the church is great to watch the sunrise hit the tip of the Matterhorn and it is not too busy so if you have a clear day it is worth the short walk and getting up early. We went in early November so not all the hotels, shops and restaurants were open yet but there was more than enough open to keep us happy.
The hotel does not have an elevator and the stairs are a little narrow so do not bring too much to visit Zermatt. We loved Zermatt and appreciated this hotel for its affordability and location. If you are not looking for anything too fancy the Hotel Helvetia will work for sleeping and some down time.
It is important to note that Zermatt does not allow cars but we found parking affordable and accessible at Täsch railway station and very frequent train service to and from Zermatt.
