One of the best meals, we've ever been for. Took my partner and son for Father's Day. Service was excellent, the staff were all so welcoming and attentive. Food was excellent, and great portions - we came home with our leftovers! The treacle tart was Devine!! My favourite desert of all time, and it didn't disappoint. We can't wait to come back and try some more items! HIGHLY recommend

Waited ages for the order to be taken and when the food arrived one dish was not as ordered so one of our party had to wait for their correct food. We paid £33 for an awful bottle of Malbec and to add insult to injury another item was added to our bill which was nothing to do with us! As to the food - the crab salad was delicious but had to ask for butter for the bread. The haddock goujons had undercooked batter and the chips were tasteless. I’d heard good reviews about this place but all of us were very disappointed.

Arrived for 5.30 as per our booking. Restaurant was very busy, staff polite… however food arrived at 6.30. Felt like we had the cloak of invisibility on. The prices are high. The portions massive. Food is lovely. Would have appreciated a bit more from the staff maybe smile and ask if everything is ok. All round lovely. Don’t forget customer service 😁

We booked our night here last minute and we weren't disappointed. The staff were super friendly and really seemed to enjoy their job. They were also extremely accommodating, allowing me into my room early and check out later. I then spent time whilst waiting for my partner to finish work, drinking tea in the bar area which had a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere. The food was incredible and the portion sizes were huge. Thank you for a great stay.

Celebratory birthday dinner. Exceeded our expectations. Nice property and well cared for garden with a very pleasant terrace. Stylish and smart in a good way. Ample parking. Friendly welcoming and helpful staff. They obviously have a great team running the kitchen. Congrats to the Chef, food was excellent. Very good menu, something for everyone. Generous portions. Stayed over and as it was for one night we booked a small room. Very satisfied. Definitely worth a few miles drive out of Norwich. Great place to stay if visiting the Norfolk Broads and Norwich. We will definitely return.

Excellent service, food and drink selection. Friendly welcome and atmosphere. We decided to eat in the bar area. Well maintained grounds and sun trap outside seating area. Delighted this has reopened from years ago. Lots of parking and room available if you want to stay over. Close to broads and local attractions as a base.

Superb Sunday lunch, attentive staff, beautiful location, excellent food with amazing quality and generous portion size. Dog friendly too. We’ve visited all the Colchester Inns over the last few years on our annual Norfolk holiday and this is a great addition to the family. We will be back!

Lots of good things to say so here goes: Gemma ,Lydia and other bar/restaurant staff - all of them were polite and carried out their jobs with smiles on their faces. very efficient too. The chef and staff - what else can we say but superb. Every meal was amazing - especially the char sui marinated pork loin - I loved that!!!! the breakfasts were excellent as well. All portions are very ample! Even the half full english breakfast was large. The accommodation - superb. Elegant, comfortable, very well looked after and very, very clean. We stayed in Ash and it was lovely. We will definitely like to come back and stay at The Lodge in time and have already recommended it to family and friends.

We didn’t intend to go here , but ended up here MID WEEK , prices are higher than most places of similar stature but food looked good, steak was amazingly tasty and cooked to perfect ,it stated said served with hand cut chips, hand cut by Tesco certainly but not in their kitchen that was for sure unfortunately nothing special, ordered mash, was definitely a packet mash which is disappointing for this calibre of restaurant, onion rings really greasy and had to order as a side No mushrooms or anything else served with steak except some green rocket leaves , could do a bit better I think, the best thing we ordered were the vegetables, thankfully unlike the chips and smash potato were fresh We would go back , as steak was very tasty. Service was attentive, Just few bits and would be AMAZING
