We wanted to check in a bit early and the office was locked and we had to wait in our car until someone came to check us in. The towels were small but there was maid service and we got fresh towels the next day.

I’ve stayed here twice at San Marcos Motel. It is very clean and convenient for a quick overnight stay. The price is excellent and check in at 2 is very helpful as well. This will be my go to for an overnight stay going forward.

We chose this property for its economy. It was basic in many ways but more than adequate, well kept, and the manager was very helpful and friendly. Everything worked and was exactly what we were looking for as our outpost for going to Solvang. The price allowed us to make a 3-day stay. If you're looking for a 'resort', look elsewhere. If you want a good place to stay, this worked well.

This is a bare basics motel, which is not necessarily a bad thing. It comes with big parking spots, both a microwave and a fridge, and it's in a safe location. Check in was easy and the proprietor was friendly. I knew from the photos that this would be a mom-and-pop type establishment, and I was right. For me, this usually means uncomfortable beds and a sore back in the morning (right again). Freeway access was excellent and I liked how I was only a short distance from Solvang.

The motel owner was very accommodating and caring. It was a surprisingly pleasant stay and quite a bargain if you’re visiting Solvang.

Nice clean quiet room. Loved that had old school key for room. Easy check in. Close to solvang and other areas. Just recently Re-booked for husbands birthday. End of December. We Stayed beginning of December.
