This would be a 5* review if residents were stopped from smoking on the fire escapes at the end of the corridors. This results in the corridors smelling badly of cigarette smoke. Also fairly noisy with the fire doors opening and closing constantly. Fire escapes are simply that and not smoking areas. On the positive side this hotel is very clean with comfortable beds. The little bathroom has a good shower. The staff were very polite and helpful both at check in and check out. The car parking is free and secure which is a massive benefit when travelling with a car full of personal belongings. Stop the smoking on the fire escapes and you will change the poor reviews.

We stayed here on our way to and from Disneyland (7 people in total) Excellent rooms overlooking the sea on the 4th floor. Large clean modern rooms with two double beds. The staff were very efficient and friendly, check in took 2mins. Parked on the road outside the hotel with no problems at all (we didn’t leave anything on show in the van as advised) the area is well lit with cameras. We left two bags in reception by mistake and when we got back the following week, they were safely locked away awaiting our return thanks to the reception staff. Breakfast choice was continental or cooked and both good. Could not fault the service we received, and will always stay here in future. We’ve stayed in a few hotels in Calais but this is by far the best.

La ubicación es bastante buena pero me hicieron esperar más de media hora para poder ingresar a mi habitación y era la única en la fila. las instalaciones huelen demasiado a cigarrillo, solo pasé una noche pero tuve que comprar un aromatizante. Todo estaba limpio y el desayuno fue tipo buffet, para mí estuvo bien el desayuno. pero deben solucionar el olor a cigarrillo del edificio ya que para personas que no fuman puede volverse bastante incómodo.

What I liked: Good location: you can walk out, one minute and you're right near the intersection of the two main streets of Calais. You can walk to the main area of restaurants in about 8-10 minutes and see quite a bit along the way. The room was spacious. and clean and the front desk man was not only helpful but cheerful too. Also there is a bar at the hotel and breakfast area. I didn't have breakfast this time, but would probably do so next time. The aspects of the hotel I didn't like so much was the fact that the decor of the room is very bland. This probably doesn't matter much if you are just here for a night. Also with one window in the room (in the one I stayed in) there wasn't quite enough light. Depends on your point of view but at 72-75 euros per night I don't call this a 'budget' hotel as some others do. It's more of a mid-range. To me 'budget' means something more like the F1 or the Premiere Classe. A few other tips: Regarding the bar, if you want a 'flat white' or similar, don't make the mistake of ordering 'cafe au lait' as in Calais this actually means just an americano-style long cafe with some UHT milk on the side. What you want is a cafe creme. When I explained what I wanted, the barman/front desk man happily made an espresso coffe with steamed milk. Just around the corner to the left is Au Calice where you can sit outside with a coffee and watch the world go by. Which is always a good thing to do when you're in France. There is also a new 'cool' cafe called the Cafetoria right next to it.

Les Equipements proposés tels que le Spa, et la piscine sont supers, bien tenus, locaux lumineux. personnel aux petits soins de la clientèle, le petit déjeuner est royal, buffet, très garni, bien achalandé, en mets salés ou sucrés, il y en a pour tous les goûts !! We booked this hotel when it was a Novotel, it’s now run by B&B (I think this is the right one - it’s B&B 4, there are three hotels all on the same car park). We were travelling as a family of four on our way to Disneyland Paris and this location was very convenient, right by City Europe by the Eurotunnel terminal. We had an executive suite which had a double bed and two put-up beds, separate toilet and bathroom (very handy with four of us!), kettle, coffee machine, fridge and microwave. Whole room was spotlessly clean and well-appointed, there were even robes and slippers on the beds. Breakfast was included and really lovely - when we arrived the receptionist called another lady out from the kitchen who squeezed fresh orange juice for us - there was also hot and cold drinks, fresh croissants and other pastries, bread, meat and cheese, doughnuts, lots of choice. Whole hotel was so clean and all the staff pleasant and helpful. There were a lot of police vans in one end of the car park but didn’t see any actual activity. Overall a lovely stop and would gladly stay here again.

Very basic; small room; way overpriced for what you get; but at least got a (somewhat) funny story out of it My first surprise coming here was when I went into the B & B hotel lobby and was told, ”No sorry, this is the B & B 4-star, your hotel is next door.” So then I went next door and was told ”No sorry, this is the B & B 3-star, YOUR HOTEL IS OUT BACK BY THE PARKING”. (all in French of course!) Yes, unknown to me, and probably unknown to many others, the so-called B&B hotel chain operates a 2-star, a 3-star and a 4-star hotel all on the same site! What a strange way to confuse customers! Is B&B Hotels trying to be all things to all people? So with that out of the way I trudged out back to my 2-star accomodation, only to find that it is almost identical with an Ibis-Budget. Not a room you would like to spend any time in. Small room with just the basics. Very disappointing for 75 euros! I was really expecting something a lot better. Also, why call your hotel a B&B if breakfast isn't included? This violates the whole concept of what a B&B is. Breakfast here is an extra item, but based on the general quality of the hotel, I didn't have much confidence it will be very good. I had to get downtown to the station by 10 am on a Sunday, and when the bus didn't turn up at 8am I decided I'd better not risk the next one turning up. I ended up trudging all the way to the centre, a good 2.5 miles by a non-pedestrianised way. It was fun though and It reminded me of hitchhiking around France 30 years ago. On the positive side, there are several nice eating choices a short walk away. The hotel is a 5 min walk to cite Europe with a very good food court. The Flunch serves French food cafeteria style at bargain prices. There is also a good burger place there. Still the words ”YOUR HOTEL IS OUT BACK BY THE PARKING” will forever remain in my memory as sort of B&B hotels slogan.
