Husbands birthday, booked to stay on our way to Scotland. Arrived after an 8 hour drive to find the booking was for next month, hotel full. Zero help. No offer to see if they could find another hotel, just a “not my problem” attitude and an offer for us (not them) to call customer service. Stuck with no signal and no help in a strange city and both exhausted we walked the streets looking for a place to stay and found ibis, when we were finally in a position to call Travelodge. Made worse when basically it was a “I can’t deal with this, Customer Service will get back to you in 5 days, you can’t have a refund as it was a saver deal” but one we were led to believe was for tonight, not next month. It’s no use as we live 8 hours away, and I wouldn’t stay there anyway after this awful experience. If there was a minus rating I’d award it. Needless to say it also ruined my husbands birthday.
