Top end palatial feel, very Spanish, elegant, comfortable lots of beautiful furniture and antiques but so many nice corners to lounge in. Set in beautiful gardens with the most professional but friendly and warm service. All food fantastic. Worth the money. Downsides are I worried a bit about how much food gets wasted especially at breakfast, they don’t have an iron you can borrow you have to pay for someone to iron it for you and a shame they don’t have hot tub or jacuzzi in otherwise fabulous spa facility. Played golf and even though I’m not good survived it and loved the perfectly manicured course and again impeccable service.

This is a beautiful hotel where a lot of thought has gone into the decor and the gardens to create a lovely environment. There are also a wide range of facilities, including 2 outdoor pools (50m and 30m), as well as a heated indoor 25m pool. Note the outdoor pools aren’t particularly warm at this time of year. Bedrooms are spacious and luxurious. The spa was outstanding (particularly the staff) and the gym was very well equipped. Service across the board was excellent. We ate at all three restaurants. El Jardin, the main restaurant was impressive with a good range of fresh seafood on the specials. An excellent range of local and international wines. The Italian restaurant, Don Giovanni was fun but it is predominantly pasta, pizza etc. Last was the Japanese fusion restaurant Rei where we tried and thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu. Food at lunch and breakfast was very high quality too. A few ******* though - being charged to use the tennis courts on top of very expensive rooms was extremely disappointing. Felt greedy. The service was excellent but formal and hence on occasions was slow. For example, breakfast isn’t a buffet and when the restaurant is busy, it can easily take an hour, so be thoughtful about any bookings you have made. Finally the immediate area isn’t very attractive. Andalusia is beautiful - we finished here, having toured Granada, Cordoba, Seville and Ronda, so we were content to stay at the hotel but be warned it is a bit of ‘an oasis in a desert’ when it comes to the local vicinity.

It is hard to find a fault in finca cortesin to be honest - the hotel, the staff, the facilities, the location half an hour from Marbella, great gym and sPa, golf course, multiple restaurants - really top notch if you are looking for an escape from reality. If i had to pick a minor fault was breakfast - felt a buffet would have worked much better and Maitre wasnt the warmest - otherwise a full on 5/5*.

The last hotel on our very long Grand Europe trip. What can I say? This is supposed to be one of the best resorts in Andalucia and it certainly was. Our suite was beautiful and very luxurious, and the indoor swimming pool is just breathtaking. It’s a very large hotel but you don’t feel it at all because everything is planned so well. The grounds are maintained perfectly. I counted at least five gardeners in one morning and they have gorgeous olive trees. My one constructive criticism is the lack of personalized service for such a luxury hotel. We stayed here a few days and saw the same staff every day but they smiled at us in a very impersonal way without any recognition or special effort. Nothing to complain about, but I expected better service from a hotel with such a great reputation.

After spending time at the new Vermelho hotel in Portugal's Alentejo and the Anantara Villa Padierna our stay at the Finca Cortesin was supposed to be the highlight of this trip. Allow us to disagree with a lot of other reviews. There is something missing at this hotel. It looks good, the service is polished (on the limit of arrogance sometimes) but we miss the feel-good factor. We have been to a lot of "best hotels" in the same range as the Finca, but this does not seem to be a hotel for us. Good hardware but deficient software. Stiffness, everything is done by the rules, problem solving is not in their books. Nice big pools (3 of them) but freezing cold ( never anyone in them and we are still in September!). The 4th in the spa is ok. Restaurants so-so. Jardins is a waste of (a hell of a lot of) money, Rei is good but if you want to eat enough you have to sell your house. Beach club nice and a great bar. Rooms are well-done but ours was exposed full north, which means not a single ray of sunshine during the whole day. In conlusion: we did not really feel welcome and the hotel lacks kindness and warmth. Not once did we feel that the hotel wanted us to come back in the future. For this price we expected certainly more but perhaps we just don't get it. Nb: read our reviews to see comments on what we consider "feel-good" hotels. Sorry, we won't be back

We’ve been fortunate enough to stay in some top hotels but we cannot wait to stay here again. From start to finish it was wonderful. Everything one would expect and more. How anyone can give a bad review is beyond us! We loved that there are no brands or points of sale for third parties anywhere. Just pure class and elegance. Of course little touches like two cold water bottles in our car when the valet returned it for a trip out. My only hesitation is REI, it wasn’t for us - probably wonderful if one likes Japanese food! We also ate at the Italian restaurant. If the manager reads this I would recommend louder music there, it was very quiet and a bit uncomfortable! No request was too big anywhere in the hotel, especially with the Portuguese band who allowed us to keep requesting songs when we were the only ones there. Breakfast was the best we’ve ever had ALTHOUGH we were a little surprised to be charged for Eggs Benedict, particularly when we weren’t given a menu, just simply asked if we would like anything like that and we said yes. For €750 per night just for the room I would suggest all breakfast items should be included. We’ve already booked to go back. Now if only we could take our dog with us it really would be paradise.

The best Hotel in Europe. The grounds, faculties, golf, staff, food, are all top notch. If your looking for an exceptional experience you will find it here. The rooms are the largest I’ve seen anywhere and the shower water pressure is amazing

Everything was amazing, especially the food - I’ve never been somewhere where such a wide variety of food was offered at a hotel/resort’s on site restaurants and at such high and amazing quality! In particular Reí restaurant was some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life. Staff were very friendly and kind, pool was relaxing and the spa was amazing too. If I had any complaints it would be that it was odd not to see the beach club directly connected to the beach - it would be even better if they had their own section of the beach. Overall I will definitely be returning!

It's been a few years since I felt compelled to write about a hotel. Sure I have been to many since my last review, but Finca Cortesin is more than worthy. You are treated like absolute royalty. You will have plenty, and I mean plenty of space to just breathe and think in absolute privacy. Now if you go as a couple, sure you can make friends, and we did, but and I feel this is the 1 jewel of Finca Cortesin, you can just have peace of mind, unwind at the massive adult-only pool in privacy. Take a long walk without hearing a thing! Or listen to the outdoor band that plays at night for hours on end with a drink after dinner. Many will come for the pristine 18-hole Golf course. In the heat of August in southern Spain, this is not for me, but boy is it nice to hike the entire property and view the course and its beauty (just don't hike in the middle of the day) Everything at Finca was triple and quadruple thought out ages before you attend. All the details, from the room lighting to the basket of fruits delivered twice a day. The SPA, 1 of the 5 best I have seen. The massage was definitely the best I have ever received. We tend to go from hotel to hotel, wanting to see something new. Finca may have changed our approach and is worthy of revisiting over and over and over.
