We had a one night stay at the Ivy Tower Hotel (formerly the Welcome Inn) in Castlebar on a Friday night before a football match. The hotel is well located near the centre of the town. Facilities at the hotel were very good with rooms, toilets etc very clean. The drinks in the bar were also good as was the breakfast. I would have no hesitation in returning.

Great friendly hotel. Ok its only 2 star but room was clean. Staff lovely and friendly. Ideal central location. Parking outside. Breakfast cooked to order. Bar lovely for a drink. Onsite teenage disco weekly but this finishes early. Recommend

Should not be called a hotel, more likely B&noB. When away with work you're on a tight schedule, so i made sure to be at breakfast for the 7:30am opening time but guess what, place was a ghost town with one non-interested employee who shortly said Chef is Late. 15 minutes later chef still not there at which point i looked for a refund for the cost of the breakfast but no refund can be got stated the same monosyllabic employee.

Lovely hotel , don't know how it only has 2 star rating. Our room was small & basic but absolutely spotless and comfortable. The whole hotel is so clean , we had food on the bar on arrival & breakfast in the morning, food was lovely and all staff were so attentive. A 12 min walk brought us to the gig we were attending at the TF Royal

Clean, well-spaced room. Comfortable amenities and delicious food. Mary, the owner is friendly and approachable and asked daily about our comfort. Hotel well placed in Castlebar and not far from beautiful walking trails.

I went with my family to spend a couple of days driving around Mayo taking in local attractions. We based ourselves in this hotel. we could not believe the service It was incredible value for money with lovely clean rooms, comfy bed and a great breakfast way above the 2* rating expectation. The staff are warm and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Mayo area and would not hesitate to stay here again.

We traveled as a group to Castlebar and were looked after so well by all the staff in the hotel. Great value for money and a fantastic breakfast with an extensive breakfast offering but hard to beat the full Irish. The hotel bar is very welcoming. Thanks to Mary and the excellent staff for a very enjoyable stay.

We had a wonderful experience here. The staff are very well trained and extremely courteous, professional and helpful. The rooms, although compact, are very clean with a modern decor. Absolutely deserving of more than 2 stars. I absolutely could not fault anything during our stay.Absolutely will be back!

It was hard to find somewhere to book what with the situation at the moment and we were grateful to find this lovely gem. Can't recommend enough. Beautiful hotel from the outside and equally nice inside. Very warm and cosy feeling. Breakfast dining area is lovely and the food was generous and delicious. Lovely bar as well. Close to everything in town and not a far drive away from most Mayo Tourist destinations. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Very clean rooms. Will be back again.
