Waited for someone to come over from the restaurant to check us in for several minutes. I’ve stayed in over 100 premier inn rooms over the years and this was the nosiest room I’ve ever been in. We were room 2 next to reception and the front door. Contestant banging of the door outside ours which goes into reception. This was throughout the night and early morning. We were in room 2. We could hear people talking and coming and going in reception from the room. A on and off alarm could also be heard in the morning which was coming from reception. We were only given one bath towel and one hand towel. The shower gel pump was broken. On the back of the tv instructions was lots of writing which o assume was from a previous guest. No one on the desk (again) when we left for breakfast and also when we checked out. Totally disappointed. I’ve always chosen premier inn for my overnight stays around the country as I know what I’m getting but this stay has put doubt in my mind for any future stays. Going on to the breakfast this wasn’t much better. The stale cigarette smoke hits you when walking between the premier inn and the restaurant but I couldn’t see anyone smoking. It was a really strong smell. When we went to the desk a lady came over and asked our room number. She didn’t ask if we had eaten in there or a premier inn before and just mentioned she was waiting on some more eggs to be cooked. She walked into the part of the restaurant set for breakfast and we followed her assuming she was seeing us to a table but we followed her to the kitchen so then turned round and found our own seats. I had breakfast in a premier inn at the end of Nov and this was nothing in comparison or in comparison to others I’ve had around the country. The milk in the coffee tasted like it was going off but not turned. The white bread looked value not like I’ve seen before, the malted bread which I usually love was cheap looking wholemeal, there were no blueberry muffins. There was a large choice of condiments which was good. The fruit, yoghurts, cereals were all there but not presented well on the wonky tables they were on. Then to go on to the hot selection, it all didn’t look appealing. The tomatoes and mushrooms were so overcooked they were chewy. Bacon was ok apart from being very fatty. The fried eggs were ok. Beans again looked like they had been heated for a long time. The hot food just didn’t like like the usual selection only sausage, bacon, tomato, mushroom has browns (also a lot smaller than normal and very crispy) and fried egg, while we were eating a man walked in and went out the back and he had a rolled up tissue up one side of his nose from a bleed?! Can definitely say I won’t be staying in Chessington premier inn again, we chose this one over Tolworth (which I’ve stayed in 5 times) as we though it being next to Chessington world of adventures it would be a nice one) definitely not. Unsure what’s going on here but it’s definitely not the usual standards.
