Great location, lovely hotel but the room was small.

Great location for a night in the city centre.
Basic room, no frills but clean.
Only negative was how long the wash basin and bath took to drain. There’s obviously a problem with the drainage somewhere.

A warm, welcoming greeting from the receptionist. This hotel is maintained to a very high standard and spotlessly clean. It is also in a prime location. The facilities available were also very good. The only negative I have, is that a bedside lamp was broken - which is very minor, however, does need replacing. The beds were extremely comfortable, making for an excellent nights sleep. I will definitely be staying here again.

The hotel is in an amazing location and the staff were excellent. But, when I booked the room it had a picture of a small double bed. When I arrived, it turned out to be a tiny single bedroom with a single bed in it. The windows didn't open at all, and the bed was way too soft. I didn't sleep at all. I did tell the receptionist at 4.30am, and again at breakfast time. They both apologised, but did nothing about it. I just feel that £102.00 is a lot to pay for no sleep.

We love staying in Macdonald hotels, as we know we will have a good stay, and as a family with 3 children (9,7,7) we know that we will be catered for an a suite will give us the room we need. We had a very enjoyable stay, however as is the case with quite a few of the hotels we have stayed in recently the room and hotel could do with some updating. There was furniture in the room that looked tired and with wonkey legs as well as a slow running shower and Mold and timescale around the bathroom. I also had to ask for the bath drain to be looked at as it was slow running and was blocked with a build up of hair (I stupidly put my fingers down there and it was “furry”) the stay was otherwise enjoyable and the staff were attentive as usual. Th location of the hotel was perfect and very central, but was still quiet and peaceful.
