Chainarai Riverside Recreation Centre is an underrated 5 Star hotel which will blow your mind! The hotel is huge with vast grounds, multiple parking lots, and lush tropical greenery. Located beside the Kok River, it is a grand architectural marvel of well appointed rooms, suitable for solo travelers, couples and families. The two bedroom suite has a King bed with bathtub, twin beds with rain shower, a living room, 3 TVs, 3 bathrooms, 3 ACs, ceiling high wardrobes, 3 huge balconies with full riverside views and amazingly firm comfortable beds. The building materials and fittings of the newly renovated hotel are of a quality that surpasses even 5 star hotels. The buffet breakfast is included in the room rates and has a generous menu to get your day started. The salad bar had the freshest vegetables I have ever eaten in any hotel....or restaurant. This hotel screams CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN...you can practically walk barefooted everywhere! For USD89/3,000 THB a night for the suite with breakfast (USD33/1,130 THB for Deluxe King), I'm wondering if they priced the room rates wrong, as other 5 star hotels would cost 2-3 times more...and their room size would not even be as big (112 sq m for the Suite, 39 sq m for King). For a peaceful and relaxing stay in Chiang Rai, Chainarai Riverside is the ultimate luxury getaway.

The hotel is at an excellent location, very near to the night bazaar and weekend market. There are lots of restaurants nearby. Check-in was quick, and breakfast was good. The staff were polite and helpful.
However, there's always room for improvements. The room had a weird smell, and AC was very noisy. Also, there was no hand washing soap in the bathroom. The hotel can work a bit more on the maintenance of rooms.

PPengguna TetamuA very pleasant stay. I stepped off the bus at the station and needed a place quickly as I could tell it would rain soon! Found Bed Friends about 150m away. It's a great place, feels new, is very clean, especially the bathrooms and public areas. The rooms are spotless. I was in the four bed male dorm, it lacked a window but was clean and very comfortable. A locker for my 35 litre backpack and super fast broadband. Breakfast, not sure if this is advertised as being provided. There was certainly toast and jam available and I had a couple of slices but clearly it's not enough and I took my matutinal repast elsewhere. The girl at reception is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area especially when it comes to onward travel. I totally recommend this excellent hostel which is both central and yet quiet so you can get some rest.

IInspire28916027656This was in a good location, close to the market and bus station. The place was very clean. Each person was provided a bottle of water in the fridge. There was a freezer as well which was great. Breakfast was good with a nice selection. They even had free bikes you could rent. They also had a self serve washer which was 40THB and dryer which was 60THB. There was a small pool in the lobby that was only open from 8a-8p. The only negative was that it required a 500THB deposit in cash which could be a problem if it's your last day in Thailand. For those familiar with hotels in the US, it's comparable to one of the nicer Comfort Inns.

PPengguna TetamuA quaint hotel with a nice quiet area surrounding us. We got one of the renovated rooms which felt comfy and very inviting. The bathroom was our favorite part, as it was spacy and it seemed like they really thought about the design to appeal to their guests. The bedroom also had an outdoor patio which was nice. The breakfast was also quite good. It was also easy to walk to other locations for shops or eating. The only downsides we had that since we were close to the pool, we could hear children playing at 6:30 hrs, which I think is too early for the pool to open. Also, the staff did not give us Wi-Fi passwords, but it was OK because we weren't in the room too often. But overall, an amazing place to stay!

I have a picky toddler who only drinks freshly squeezed orange juice . Only problem is that it’s impossible to order a freshly squeezed orange juice . They only have orange juice from a bottle and they tell you it’s fresh , but it’s not , I ordered again then they give me orange fruit not juice . So if you have orange why you cannnot squeeze the juice .

These overlook main road nr a traffic intersection and noise is unbearable, all night car/bikes revving up as they pull away from the lights. Light sleepers beware I had to take zopiclone to knock me out. Other rooms will be OK I expect and the whole place is such a great atmosphere

PPengguna TetamuFirst visit to Chiang Rai and enhanced by a wonderful 3 night stay at this hotel. Their location is just a 10 minute walk to the evening attractions and the accommodation itself was comfortable and clean and enhanced by having a small pool area to cool off after a days sightseeing. The staff were all wonderful and particularly reception who arrange two full days of sight seeing both the city itself and the surrounding beautiful countryside. If you decide to visit this city you would not go far wrong in choosing this hotel.

Nearby cat cafe, night bazaar and market, restaurants, massages and bus station. Forgot one of my items of clothing at the hotel and they were kind enough to mail it to my hotel in Bangkok for me to pick up. Quality service.

PPengguna Tetamuwe are finishing up a month in Thailand and have stayed at a dozen places. Everyone has always been very nice, but at Connect Hostel, the entire staff is absolutely awesome. They are always smiling, always doing things to help that you didn’t even ask for but they saw could be helpful for you (like calling around to find you transportation options that you didn’t even ask for, ordering new kids helmets for riding scooters since they didn’t have them, again without even asking).
They just genuinely want to run a place that takes care of the people that stay with them and I don’t know what else you would want!
Other perks- very clean, water machines with filtered cold water, pancake machine in the morning, very stable good internet connection throughout, super safe locked building at night, plenty of common areas to do work, laundry machines on site, 10 minute walk to bus station!

PPengguna TetamuAlmost everything here is great. Lovely grounds, clear pool and everything is exceptionally clean. Breakfast is very good and staff are pleasant. The only downside is location and even that is not a huge issue. Walking to the centre would take about 15-20 minutes but there are also a number of shuttle times. These are mostly morning and evening with a gap in the middle. As I say, this may not be an issue for everyone but overall this is very good value.
