We always look forward to trading our week to go to Fox Run, but we were disappointed this year. I think mostly because we are getting older and don't do steps well (there are many stairs!). This time, if we had to go to the bathroom, we would have to negotiate stairs to do that, except if we were in bed. If you want to use the main bedroom, you have to go down a long flight of stairs. The furniture is getting dated and the floors are getting mushy. It's time for renovations of these units.

Unit was clean on arrival, very helpful staff, resort a mini ties were nice. Indoor pool was a little small but my kids loved it anyways. Lake and beach are closed due to Helene so some activities are not available. Golf course on site was closed as well.

Beautiful location the resort is nice and well maintained. The unit was clean and comfortable. Be sure to bring your drinks and snacks with you unless you eat out. Golf is the game here if you play. Just hike around and see the natural beauty of nature

Arrived 9/20/24. Enjoyed hiking, golf and pontooning on Lake Lure. We were fortunate to experience this expansive area and all it beauty before we evacuated early Thursday on 9/26. Our hearts are with ya all!!❤️

This is a wonderful mountain get-a-way off the beaten trail. Nestled in a valley with a beautiful lake it has amenities and local attractions to keep you busy. Saw many deer close-up and even a bear (at a distance). Very clean and well kept lodging and facilities, plus friendly staffing.

The resort is lovely and we had a great time. However, the units themselves are old and shabby. The stove was chipped and the whole bathroom needs to be remodeled. Looks very 70s. Also, unbelievably, we had to ***** our beds, run the dishwasher, and put out our garbage before we left! And don't run out of toilet paper, because you have to go buy any extra supplies. We won't be staying at this facility again, although we will be back to Lake Lure and have been many times. The staff was absolutely lovely.

I give this two stars as opposed to one because the only saving grace is that you can use the amenities at Rumbling Bald Resort (about two miles away though they do have a nice outdoor pool within walking distance, part of RB Resort.) The amenities at RB Resort are really nice so no issue there. Fairways of the Mountains is just.so shabby - it was like being in a basement rec room in 1975. It wasn't dirty but it looked dirty. Shabby and down trodden really describes it best.

Great swimming in Lake Lure, would have loved to stay longer. Also close to Chimney Rock State Park, Thermal Belt Rail Trail, Asheville, Biltmore Estate, Hendersonville, etc. Great water sports, hiking, biking, and beautiful views! What a terrific vacation! On site restaurants were great and lots of access to golf courses if so inclined (not ur cu.p of tea).

This is a great family resort with pool, beach golf and many outdoor activities. Great location to be active or just enjoy the mountains. We saw bear daily which is a first for us. Being in the mountains means short drive are needed to supplies.
