A little disappointed with the decor, quite run down and desperate for a refurbishment staff on the other hand were excellent and very attentive. Unfortunately being of low cost, attracts some of the wrong sort of clientele, too! We suffered with noisy people partying until 2am when we finally decided enough was enough and tried ringing reception, phone didn’t work, so personal visit to reception sorted the issue. Non-smoking rooms, stunk of smoke. Otherwise clean and reasonable beds. Breakfast was ok.

The hotel sad modern and chic so we did like it a lot. The staff is very helpful and take time explaining all the information. Great mention to Judi (?) at the reception for helping with the planning of the city trips around Belgium. We will be back!!!

Didn’t really know what to expect at Castelnou, however was pleasantly surprised. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. The bar/restaurant area was nice and there was also a small courtyard area. Breakfast was great, with a big selection and therefore something for everyone. The staff were friendly and helpful. The aparthotel was peaceful and we slept really well on comfortable beds. Great location as a 15 min walk into the centre of Gent, and close to Dampoort station and buses. Would most definitely recommend 👍

En restant factuelle : Points positifs : l'accueil (personnel à l'écoute et réactif), emplacement à proximité des transports en commun et 15 mn à pieds du centre de GAND, espaces plein de charme au rez de chaussée, salle de petit déjeuner très jolie et rénovée et petit déjeuner très très varié, tout le monde trouvera son bonheur. Points négatifs : Etat de délabrement avancé des salles de bains, avons demandé à changer de chambre, celle que nous avions avait le lit à côté de la porte de la salle de bain, porte qui ne fermait pas. Salles de bains vétustes, odeur de refoulement. Chambres avec meubles très fatigués, rideaux déchirés qui ne semblaient pas très propres et literie pas du tout confortable sans parler des oreillers. Bruyant (bruit de cascade permanent dans les tuyauteries, probablement besoin de purger le système de chauffage). il fait très chaud dans les chambres. Le parquet grince terriblement dès que vous posez un pied par terre. En résumé, le potentiel est là mais surement par manque de moyens financiers les chambres et salles de bain (en tout cas les deux que nous avons testées) auraient urgemment besoin d'un rafraichissement voire plus. CONCLUSION : cher pour la qualité de la chambre bien que l'endroit soit charmant, le personnel aux petits soins et le petit déjeuner exceptionnel en terme de diversité.
