This hotel truly exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by its cleanliness and the warm, friendly atmosphere created by the staff. The service is nothing short of excellent—they even offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off to the train station, which made our journey so much easier.
The hotel provides everything you need for a comfortable and luxurious stay. The room is spacious, with a big TV screen and a cozy sofa for relaxation. The thoughtful amenities include a heated floor and bed, which were perfect for the cold weather. Even the toilet seat has a heater and a bidet, making it incredibly convenient and comfortable. They also provide additional oxygen in the room—a great touch, especially for those who might feel the effects of high altitude.
The views from the hotel are absolutely breathtaking! Imagine waking up to stunning mountain scenery, lush green grasslands, and sheep grazing peacefully—it’s like a dream come true. To make our stay even more special, they upgraded our room for free to one with a luxurious bathtub!
For Muslim travelers, this hotel is incredibly accommodating—they provided us with a delicious vegetarian breakfast, so we felt completely at ease. However, please be mindful when sitting on the sofas as their adorable, friendly dog loves to sit there too and might come to greet you. Their dog is super cute and playful, adding a warm and homey touch to the stay!
One of the most delightful surprises was that the hotel provides traditional Chinese costumes for free! We had so much fun dressing up and taking beautiful photos. It made us feel like royalty from an ancient Chinese dynasty—truly a unique and unforgettable experience.
Despite the language barrier, the staff were incredibly helpful in accommodating our needs. They went above and beyond to assist us, offering suggestions, pinpointing locations, and ensuring we had everything we needed. A big thumbs up to the staff member whose picture I shared (unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name). The hotel owner should truly give her credit for her exceptional service—it made our stay even more memorable!
This hotel is located near the stunning Napahai Lake, not Dukezong Ancient City. If you’re planning to stay close to Dukezong, this might not be the best choice. But trust me, you don’t need to stay near Dukezong—this hotel is so good, it’s worth being a little further away. The peaceful surroundings, incredible service, and top-notch amenities make it more than worth it!
Another fantastic perk is the nearby e-bike rental. We rented bikes and had an amazing time exploring the beautiful Napahai area and enjoying the serene countryside.
I highly recommend this hotel, especially for travelers from Malaysia. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and hospitality. Trust me, you won’t regret staying here—it’s a memory you’ll cherish forever!

PPengguna TetamuWhat can I say, Yeyu has simply got to be hands down, the best place that I have stayed in during my entire Yunnan trip. I am amazed and wasn't expecting it to be this great. I know the idea of staying in a luxury hotel doesn't seem to be something that goes hand in hand with hiking (I say this from my experience of having hiked in several other places before where the key highlight is the natural setting itself), but I have to say that it was really soothing for the soul. My girlfriend and I loved this place! The hotel is tastefully designed at every corner and angle and we can appreciate that a lot of creativity and thought was put into designing this place. The aesthetics is very pleasing to the eye and embraces the natural scenery really well. We also loved the homage it pays to the area's ******* roots such as the photographs displayed in the room (young ******* monks playing and the ******* gazelles in the bathroom) and also all the books about Tibet, Yunnan province that is in the library and living room space. The service provided by the staff was top notch, very attentive and caring. We were always asked if there's anything that the staff can do for us be it preparing a plate of fresh fruits, preparing some drinks for us when we were lounging at the living area and another completely unexpected one was when we returned from the Sacred Waterfall hike with our shoes filled with mud, the hotel staff kindly asked us to leave our shoes with him and it came back the next day fully cleaned, placed in front of our rooms. The lovely service provided was just simply amazing and for this, I would like to offer my sincere thanks and gratitude to all of the lovely staff at Yeyu who provided us with such a beautiful memory of our too brief stay here and thank you so much for the room upgrade. If I could organise this trip again, I would have liked to stay here much longer to be able to relax and enjoy the beauty of this place. Please believe me when I say that it is completely worth every yuan.
PS: Please note that there are two Yeyu Hotels in Yubeng, one near the pond and the other near the temple. We stayed at the one near the temple. Both of them are beautiful in their distinctive ways.

JJayyesjessThis homestay is the best! Very recommended 👌🏻 the host is very accommodating. The location is just perfect. It’s near to everything. There’s bed warmer and floor heater and the toilet comes with automatic bidet. There’s washing machine and even extra jackets that can be borrowed from the hotel as we undermine the cold in Shangrila the puffer jacket we borrowed really help us a lot with the cold. There’s pickup and dropoff service for free to and fro the Railway Station. The room that we book is really nice and the view is also nice. Please stay here if you come to Shangrila. You won’t regret it.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at ”Under the East Fence of Shangri-La Napahai Nature Reserve,” and I cannot recommend this place enough! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and cared for by the host, Guozi, who is one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I’ve ever met.
Guozi went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. She upgraded me to a larger room than what I had booked, which was such a lovely surprise. The room itself was very cool — equipped with all the latest Chinese technology, including automated curtains, voice-controlled lighting, TV projector, screen, and a music system. The heated floors were an absolute treat, especially in the chilly Shangri-La weather.
The view from the room was simply breathtaking, with a full window wall overlooking the stunning landscape of the Napahai Nature Reserve. Waking up to such a view was an unforgettable experience.
Guozi’s hospitality didn’t stop there—she even made tea for me, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. The dinner is simple and delicious. Great coffee and Chinese breakfast in the morning. On the day of my departure, her husband kindly drove me to the railway station, which was incredibly helpful and saved me a lot of stress.
Another highlight of my stay was meeting Hong Gongzi (The Red Prince), their adorable and majestic Alaskan Malamute. He’s a huge, fluffy, and gentle giant who added so much joy to my visit. If you’re a dog lover, you’ll absolutely adore him!
The location itself is stunning, nestled near the Napahai Nature Reserve, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful environment. It’s the perfect place to unwind and connect with nature. It is located well away from town.
Overall, my experience at this home stay was exceptional, thanks to Guozi’s warmth, the luxurious and tech-savvy accommodations, and the charming company of Hong Gongzi. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Shangri-La and hope to return one day!

TTobbysumoHotel is located right outside the old town, which is convenient if you have big luggage. Room is big with necessary amenities. Staff service is fantastic and responsive, they even bother to call an overseas line to confirm your arrival. However hotel needs some renovations as it's kind of old. Room lighting is dark, wires on the top cabinet are slightly exposed and spider web at the toilet corridor lighting's. Free to watch TV programs are very old.

SSnoopy KBest-in-class hotel. Enjoyed a free upgrade to better room with a scenic view. We were also given late check out and a free ride to the train station. The staff provided excellent service throughout our stay. Our driver James Zhou is a young, friendly and helpful guy who shared tips on trekking.

PPengguna TetamuMy room was as described. Functional and nice and warm (with heating on) with an excellent hot shower and nice wooden wall beams.
The people who run the place are lovely and also offer nice breakfast options in the morning.
The only small note I have is that (despite best efforts and a very modern ventilation system in the bathroom) the bathroom is already moldy. I understand that it's a challenge to get under control given the climate.
I would stay again next time, and actually spend more than just one night here. There is so much you can explore here!

PPengguna TetamuThe best thing about this hotel is the view from the room. Unfortunately, that's as good as it gets! I really don't understand why it has such good reviews as I don't think it deserves them. Our room was really dirty - the first thing I saw when I walked in was dirt on the floor and clumps of hair in the corner by the furniture as well as hair on the floor. The most revolting thing was the bath mat on the floor - the parts of it that should have been white were a very dirty brown - it obviously hadn't been washed in many months. The ”fitted” sheets on the bed had bleach stains on them and they didn't fit the bed properly as they didn't tuck under the mattress which meant it came loose during the night. The mattress was very uncomfortable (hard and lumpy) - there was no mattress protector on the bed or protectors on the pillows. The walls are paper thin and, unfortunately, we had three very loud and excitable young women next door to us who talked and laughed very loudly until after midnight on all three nights we were there. The room wasn't serviced for the 3 nights we were there and we had to ask for extra toilet paper and water as they didn't put any in on the first day. We also had to empty our own bins and ask them to come and collect them from outside our door. The staff were friendly enough, but they seemed to spend all day on their phones lounging around in the rather untidy and dirty looking reception area. All the common areas were dirty too - the staircase hadn't been vacuumed any time recently as there was dirt on every stair. The place has a very neglected and uncared for feel about it which is a real pity as it could be lovely if some time and effort was put into making it clean and tidy and updating the furniture and bedding. It seems that the staff are very bored with their jobs and have no interest in keeping the place nice for customers.

Pplushparadiserumah tamu kuda teh adalah salah satu tempat pemeriksaan utama di sepanjang perjalanan, dan mempunyai dek tontonan (dengan bar) di mana anda boleh mendapatkan secawan kopi dan menikmati pemandangan gunung. lokasinya hebat, dan merupakan tempat yang sesuai untuk berhenti jika anda melakukan pendakian 2H1N. duduk di luar bilik anda dan melihat bintang pada waktu malam.
memandangkan kawasan itu sedang dibangunkan untuk menampung lebih ramai pelancong, anda akan dapati banyak pembinaan sedang dijalankan…
kemudahan adalah sangat asas, syampu sabun disediakan dalam sachet dan bilik en suite mempunyai tandas basah (mandi terbuka dan tandas tanpa sekatan). makanan di sini adalah asas, tiada apa yang perlu dilaungkan. sayur tumis saya datang berenang dalam minyak… yang saya pelajari ialah cara orang di kawasan ini memasak makanan mereka.
anda boleh menconteng tandatangan anda di lantai dinding perabot kerusi dan lain-lain sebagai sekejap... tetapi coretan itu terlalu menggembirakan untuk saya.
pertimbangkan lokasi ini sebagai warisan (menjadi titik tengah bagi keseluruhan laluan kuda teh)… dan untuk pemandangan. tandas kongsi pun ada pemandangan!
