Hotel terbaik di Dorchester

A very good place to stay. The building itself is elegant and somewhat Regency in appearance. We liked our room; the staff were unfailingly helpful and welcoming; and it is right in the centre of the town. There is also a comfortable lounge with bar on the ground floor. There is a small car park at the back, which is first come, first served. If you are unlucky in not finding a space there, there is a (pay and display) car park just a few minutes walk away. We would happily recommend this hotel, and, if we are passing through Dorchester again, we know now just where to stay. There is no restaurant in the hotel itself (although we enjoyed their breakfasts), but there are many places to eat within easy walking distance. For those with mobility issues, the main hotel rooms are up somewhat steep staircases, but there are ground floor rooms at the back, and we did see another party which included someone in a wheelchair, who was clearly being well looked after.

I wasn’t going to write this review because I know how much damage a bad review can cause. We’ve been here twice, firstly for a breakfast which was delicious and the service was excellent then the following weekend we stayed on their campsite which is excellent, nipped in pub for a drink and chips at lunch which were delicious btw! Then went in for our evening meal which didn’t go great, i wont go into details, but they did try to rectify it eventually after a bit of a bad experience but it meant I ended up with only eating chips again for my dinner. What I did want to say to anyone reading this review is one bad meal or one bad review does not make a bad pub or restaurant! Unless every review is bad, remember places and people have bad days, im not going to pretend I was happy but when the owners realised what had occurred they did try to put it right.

We have been staying at The Manor for over 25 years. Seen various owners come and go. The new owner RedCat are obviously making steps updating an old characterful hotel. The staff are really good and welcoming. Especially Millie. Kitchen staff team. Sadly the shine of our last visit was marred at the end of the evening. One of the bar staff was chatting with guests. Cigarette behind his ear and his Husky puppy running around all over the place, including behind the bar etc. Honestly went from a great evening to looking like numptys/pikies run the hotel. Truly not the image that guests want to see.

There is new management ... Forget the bad reviews of 2022 they no longer apply. Service was attentive and friendly. Lovely log fire was welcome too. The food was excellent with something for everyone on the menu. My, usually very particular, friend raved about the Vietnamese Prawn Curry. We are local and hadn't been here for years because it wasn't great but now we will definitely be going there to eat fairly frequently.
