We had the Deluxe room with the hill view. Our check was smooth and we had an early check in as requested . Monica at guest relations welcomed us with garlands and helped with check in. The bed was very comfortable and large enough to fit me , my husband and my 10 year old. The pillows were very comfortable and of different consistency which we loved. The linens were super clean. The room was well stocked. Buffet breakfast is good but you need to be early else there is a wait time. There is complimentary hi- Tea at 5 pm with snacks . The staff are courteous and very obliging. The whole hotel has an old world charm with modern facilities. We will be visiting again.

Location - close to the town. However, the road to the resort is very narrow. If one vehicle comes from the opposite side, both parties are stuck and have to move all the way back. Parking - Hotel parking space is less. One has to park one after the other and if one guest needs to remove the vehicle, they have to call all the other guests to move the vehicle. Reception - The lady staff at the reception is rude and not at all cooperative. Building - Very old building, lot of other buildings close by, not at all good view. Rooms - As the building is old, don't expect the room to be good. Toiletries were not available in the room. The towel provided on the first day was dirty. We had planned for the trip last minute, hence we missed out on all good resorts on the dates we wished to stay. Trip advisor gave this resort as very good, hence we booked 2 rooms for 2 days. When we came, we were not happy so at the reception we checked if we can update the room and we will pay for the same. That would cost us more. I would not want to pay so much more for this small hotel rather pay that money at Sterling and enjoy the ambience. We wanted to book at Sterling, unfortunately we missed the availability. There are pigeons all around the building.

The property is centrally located and a must visit if you are interested in Victorian architecture. The property is arguably from the British Era(at-least the Victorian suits). The suit rooms are huge and are carved in wood from floor to ceiling. They have an amazing restaurant and the food is yum. F&B manager Bede and his team including Rajesh were ever ready to attend to all our need. I wish Bede managed the entire property as his personal touch was there in every meal served in the restaurant. Veeramuthu from house keeping is another staff who goes extra mile to satisfy his inmates. A must stay in case you are visiting Ooty. NB- try to book suit rooms as there is no balcony attached to the the rooms in this hotel.

It was our first time with Club Mahindra and truely impressed with their hospitality. The food was great. Ev bike tour is a must try! Akshai was a great guide. Showed us some hidden jem locations of Ooty and clicked really good pictures. Overall a great experience.

VVijayakumar G AFirstly, I was given a room in an extension block that seemed to have been built recently. It was modern but lacked the charm and character of a true heritage property. The main building, with its fireplace and historic ambience, was nowhere to be found. This was especially disappointing considering the premium price I paid, comparable to what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel.
The lack of attention to detail continued throughout my stay. When I checked in on a rainy day, I had to walk to the extension block without an umbrella despite the muddy road. The staff seemed unbothered by this inconvenience. Additionally, the room didn't have slippers, and the floor was cold, with no heating available (although they did provide a basic room heater when requested).
To make matters worse, I had to call the front desk to confirm my room for the second day, which should have been done automatically as part of their standard procedure. This lack of efficiency only added to my frustration.
The toiletries were also woefully inadequate, with only basic soap and shampoo provided. Power cuts were frequent, and I had to notify the front desk each time, which seemed like a hassle the hotel should have anticipated.
The breakfast buffet was uninspiring and lacked flavour. To make matters worse, I had dinner at their restaurant, which was rated top in Ooty, but my experience was average at best. To add insult to injury, they got our order wrong, substituting Nasi Goreng (fried rice) with Mee Goreng (fried noodles). When I brought this to their attention, they made no effort to compensate for the mistake.
In conclusion, Hotel King's Cliff fails to live up to its reputation as a heritage property or even a 2-star hotel. The overpricing and lack of attention to detail make it a poor choice for travellers seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Ooty.

PPengguna TetamuHotel location is good......Common areas are well maintained however the rooms are not as reflected in photograph on the website....Restaurant is not well ***aged although the staff is good but I feel there is a lot of scope for improvement. ...Buffet breakfast is good....Biryani taste was good....Food in general was good...Had to wait for more than 30 minutes for the hotel staff to transfer my luggage from room during checkout.....There was a lot of difference between the price as mentioned on trip.com and directly with hotel.....Trip.com was less for the same Privilege Suite....

Very comfortable room. Loved the fire been lit and hot water bottle service provided on colder nights. Loved the buildings and the bar. Restaurant was great for evening and buffet breakfast. Scrumptious Dosa's! What really made it a magical stay was the Staff, they were all fantastic at hosting us.

PPengguna TetamuRosewood is an excellent place to stay. It is a small boutique Hotel with just 4 rooms. I liked the interiors. They have a dedicated dining area near the kitchen. Dining there feels like having dinner at home. Sometimes even the neighbours joined, and we made great conversations. They also a garden which has a small pit for camp fire. And since there are only 4 rooms there aren't much visitors, the place is peaceful throughout the day. It has dedicated and hospitable staff. The on-premise cooks are great - everything they cooked was delicious. On our request, the cook even cooked for our infant, which was really helpful for us, we did not have to look and go anywhere else. They have good entertainment facility inside the rooms, in case you you are feeling lazy after the day's excursions.

PPengguna TetamuGreat super clean hotel, super friendly owner, helpful staff, strategically located. Restaurant next door serves great food at economical price. Botanical garden, tibetian market n commercial Street are walkable. Other sight seeing places are easily accessible by vehicle. The owner Mr. Maria dass converses well and helps to finalise places of visit, also does his bit to keep the guests happy. If you are in Ooty go ahead with Hotel Carnation, it's the best choice within the city.

PPengguna TetamuFacilities: It’s a small hostel with well kept rooms and washrooms. The dorms are definitely worth the price! They also have a private room available. The common areas are nicely decorated and they have books and board games. There’s an outdoor bonfire every night which is a highlight! They have a swing at an elevation above the hostel that has beautiful views of the town! Service: 5/5 for the friendly hosts and the service. They create a very happy and cozy environment, making it easy to mingle and meet new people! Location: around 1.5-2kms from the city centre. Walkable if you’re up for it otherwise autos are available. Cons: No common pantry or kitchen area, would have been a nice addition

From window any one can experience the beauty of ooty. The government botanical garden is only 250m from the hotel and access by walking. Really worthy within this price.
