My recent experience at New Shivapuri event Hall - Aranya Boutique Hotel in Kathmandu left me with conflicting feelings as it unfolded as a series of highs and lows. Let's start with the lows. The event I hosted was plagued by a slew of issues. Firstly, despite assurances, nothing was ready on time. The staff appeared disorganized, and the lack of punctuality cast a shadow over what should have been a joyous occasion. The party venue, advertised as accommodating 200 people, proved to be a tight fit for our 150 guests. The cramped space diminished the overall experience, and it was clear that the venue's capacity had been grossly overestimated. Adding to the frustration, it seemed that our event took a backseat when there was a larger function in progress. The lack of attention and importance given to our gathering was disheartening, making us feel like an afterthought in our own celebration. On a positive note, I must commend the room, room service, food, and front desk staff. The accommodations were comfortable, the room service was prompt and friendly, and the front desk personnel were helpful. It's unfortunate that these positives were overshadowed by the glaring issues with the event venue. However, one significant letdown was the absence of a designated nursery or an extra room to cater to attendees with children. Despite prior requests, this basic consideration for families with young ones was overlooked, showcasing a lack of foresight and customer-centric thinking. In conclusion, while Aranya Boutique Hotel offered some positive aspects in terms of accommodation and service, the dismal experience with the Shivapuri event venue leaves me hesitant to recommend it for celebrations. The highs were marred by significant lows, and for those looking to host an event in Shivapuri Hall , it might be wise to explore other options that prioritize both professionalism and customer satisfaction.

I visited this hotel from California. I did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with the service if the employees. It was great to have room service and order food when we did not want to go to the restaurant. The food tested very authentic. I loved Daal Makhani, chicken rogan josh and paneer tikka. I was happy with everything . if you’re traveling with family, this is a perfect spot to be at.

Been here 2 times and this property will always be my first option when it comes to booking hotels in Thamel. I have had the worst experience with other hotels but not Norbulinka. The staffs are friendly and helpful, the breakfast is delicious and for my second visit I wanted a room decoration and Norbulinka provided me with the best room decoration I had ever seen. It was really beautiful. Everything is good including the location, comfortable rooms, cozy beds, and delicious meals. It's very quiet and peaceful at night, really like the location.

Brand new hotel in the Thamel neighborhood. The hospitality of the owner, Dinesh and his staff is pure Nepalese graciousness of the highest oder. My room was clean and cozy. My bed, pillows and comforter made me feel like home. Bathroom was just fine everything worked toilets flushed and the water ran hot and cold. For $25 a night! If there is one drawback it is for people who need an elevator. Stairs only. I would stay there again without question. All the best to Dinesh and staff.

This is a cozy, well-designed, small hotel in the middle of Thamel, with a fine bar and solid included breakfasts—ours was served by Binod, who was happy to point us in the right direction as he served our eggs, herb/chive/garlic potatoes, fresh squeezed watermelon juice and world class cappuccinos. The complimentary yoga class was sweat-inducing, torso-twisting and profoundly challenging, while attentively adapting to my strength and ability. I left feeling in my body, mindful, and with extremely sore armpits.

5 stars for staff very helpful and friendly assistance manager at desk Rabindra Thapa is very helpful cooperative. Room cleaning everyday perfect condition and room in that price is amazing in thamel .all thamel main area is 1 min walk for hotel wonderful stay I would recommend anyone coming to kathmandu.

We went for family vacation in Kathmandu and Pokhara this March 2022. I really cant write enough here how miserable the experience for us while staying this place! 1. Hotel staff communication was terrible: earlier they informed when we just checked in that the room per night price is USD 20 we paid full amount. next day in the morning when we are checking out for our flight, they informed we are pending with more 25 USD!!!! and there was miscommunication from their end! 2. The room was very dirty: specially the bathroom. There was no shower curtain, you wont ever want to use such yellowish toilet!!! We informed the reception then and there to clean the whole room as it was not possible to stay like this or shift us in a better room. they sent a cleaner but it didnt change a bit of the situation. 3. During the night, there was an incident, we heard some one continuously banging really hard on door of our floor (didnt know which room). We got really scared and couldnt sleep well. My sister was continuously checking through door peephole that what the hell is happening!!! this was going for quite a long time at that night. Overall, it was really really a bad experience for us in terms of money, satisfaction and security. And specially after the wonderful experience in Pokhara; our last night at Kathmandu in this hotel was unfortunate! We wish we never went there! I am sure someone else could have different experience here but, for our family it was a nightmare.

Amazing massage, very relaxing. This massage is very good and thorough. Felt like a truly unique experience that I would definitely want to do again. I suggest this massage for anyone staying in Nepal. Specifically, the oil massage is really great.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Thamel, a tourist area of Kathmandu. My stay was very nice and comfortable. The ambience of the inner yard is fantastic. My colonial-style room was bright, clean, and spacious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. What I enjoyed the most were the free morning yoga classes with a great Nepali teacher. Breakfast offered quite a variety of good options, though the pastries could be better. However, I noticed that the lack of good bakeries is quite common in Nepal. A few disappointments: early morning garbage sorting on the street nearby and sometimes some noise from outside. Overall, it is worth staying here. The hotel offers an excellent combination of price and quality, with a cozy, homey atmosphere.
