Hotel terbaik di Vil de Matos

A very modern hotel with many facilities. A little out of the way from town centre but set in a more rural/residential area. Exactly what we needed after the hustle and bustle of downtown Coimbra. Excellent breakfast and superb dinner. Very reasonable price for the type of hotel it turned out to be.

Desde o primeiro contacto que tudo foi muito bom. O atendimento, a disponibilidade e o acolhimento de todos os colaboradores/profissionais foi extraordinário. Fizeram um upgrade á minha reserva e ofereceram ”um mimo”. A suite era muito confortável, ampla, agradável, limpa e tudo funcionava na perfeição. O pequeno almoço foi muito variado, com produtos frescos de qualidade e estes constantemente a serem repostos, os profissionais atentos aos hóspedes e a tudo o que passava na sala. O ginásio estava bem equipado, a piscina estava limpa e o banho turco disponível.

Hotel is by beach . Room is big and clean. Breakfast is very good. The supermarket is in next door. The town Sitio near Nazare is on the cliffs. The views are very beautiful and looks down the beach and town. It worths the visit. The parking on the hilltop is limited but if you go there early , you are still able to find place to park. The receptionist is very good and helpful. When I arrived at the hotel in the evening, I found flat tire. The young guy worked at the front desk helped me to call the rental car company to solve the problem. I definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

A localização é ótima: apesar de não ser tão perto das principais atrações da cidade, fica numa região com várias opções de transporte, além de supermercados e locais para comer. O preço é um grande diferencial, tendo boas acomodações com ótimo espaço a um preço excelente. Apesar de a rua ser um tanto movimentada, não tivemos qualquer problema com barulho à noite. Mesmo não havendo ar condicionado e fazendo muito calor durante o dia, ficar com as janelas parcialmente abertas à noite foi mais que suficiente para ter uma boa noite de sono. Necessita atenção a detalhes em reparos que não custam muito e, por não terem sido feitos, acabam dando mau aspecto a um quarto que se nota ter sido renovado há pouco: a torneira não está bem fixa na pia, uma cortina não pode ser recolhida e a ducha não fica bem fixa no suporte durante o banho. O atendimento é bastante acolhedor, porém, só por questão de informação adicional, tivemos problema no pedido para deixarmos nossas bolsas de viagem antes do check-in, pois chegaríamos ainda pela manhã na cidade: sei que isso não é uma obrigação da acomodação, mas um dos motivos de reservarmos esta acomodação foi justamente por termos recebido a confirmação de que poderíamos deixar nossas coisas no hotel antes do check-in (que ocorre às 15h). Porém, como regra não há qualquer pessoa na recepção antes das 12h (ou seja, até essa hora nunca é possível deixar suas coisas lá) e no dia em que fomos não haveria ninguém nem mesmo até as 15h; pensamos apenas que poderia ter havido aviso prévio deste pormenor ou mesmo resposta quando tentamos contato, pois isso atrapalhou um pouco nossos planos na cidade. Entendemos perfeitamente as razões dadas, mas ainda assim achamos justo haver uma maior preocupação da acomodação nessa questão.

Very basic chained hotel - take note there are old rooms and new rooms for the hotel in Coimbra. The photos listed mostly show the new rooms but we were given the old room which was super dated. Even the remote control for the TV was not working. We requested for the new room and thankfully one was available for immediate check-in. Apparently only 5 out of 90 rooms are revamped? Only the reception staff could speak English. Location was about 10 mins walk to city centre and 5 mins drive from Coimbra-B train station via Uber. You may refer to my photos to see the difference between the old and the new room.

We were very happy with our two-night stay in Studio no. 12, which was spacious, tastefully appointed and had everything we needed. The host/manager Ricardo was very solicitous, regularly checking that we were satisfied and asking whether we needed anything. Our only real bone of contention had less to do with Sophia Studios and more to do with the location, with noise from the [busy] street outside and nightclubs and the like penetrating the fully closed windows and shutters. That aside, the location is excellent, within walking distance of everything you'll want to see.

This hotel is a hidden gem! Great location that includes being minutes (walking) from the heart of old city center of Coimbra, great small resturants, shopping, and seeing the university. There is also a grocery store about 2 minutes walking distance which is always a bonus in my book. This hotel is located about 4 walking minutes from the train station and about a 7 minute drive from the bus station. What I loved about this hotel is the bar area, which is also the breakfast area, and then you walk up a flight of stairs to one of the best roof top sitting area! Amazing picture taking. The bar opens at 4:00PM and offers light eats, wine, beer, and other drinks. Good prices as well. Breakfast is very good with eggs, bacon, fruit, and many other items. The only con I would say is that the rooms are a little dated and bare essentials provided. However, it doesn't keep me from recommending the hotel highly and I would love to visit again. Also, bonus the staff is very friendly and helpful. Great stay!

What a terrific hotel. New, clean, quiet, comfortable room and excellent customer service from all the staff. Had a soft supportive king bed, bar refrigerator, tea and coffee station and lots of storage. Breakfast was extensive with some hot offerings (scrambled eggs and bacon), cold cuts, cheese, breads for toasting and buns plus pastries and fruit…and a coffee and tea station in a beautiful setting - either inside or out. A short walk takes you to the river walk and parks and the great restaurants are just outside the hotel door - literally. We had some wonderful pasta on one night and tried the salt cod and steak at the other place just next door.
