This hotel is full of very friendly people, who are completely incompetent. Upon arriving with my friend, we asked for connecting rooms, which I know are never guaranteed, but the check-in person said they would try. After waiting a bit, we were told they were able to get this, and gave us our keys. We went up to the rooms, which were next to each other, but unless the connecting door was invisible, they were not connecting rooms. Here is incompetent person #1, as the check-in people should know which rooms are connecting and which are not. I then had some problems with the heater in my room, and called reception to send someone up. They said someone would come up in 15-20 minutes. After waiting over an hour, we decided to go to dinner, and stopped at reception to ask what had happened. The person there mumbled apologies over and over again, but spoke so unclearly that I could not understand what he was apologizing for, only that the mechanic never showed up. Here is incompetent person #2, who can't even figure out how to send a mechanic up to the room. When we returned from dinner, we asked again for the mechanic, who came very quickly to the room. He was very nice, and explained about some of the problems with the heating system since they renovated the hotel, and seemed to really know what he was talking about, since he went into a lot of detail. He had to go somewhere else to make an adjustment, and then returned to say that the problems would be fixed now, and the heater would work as I wanted. Well, it didn't. You could turn it off, and it said OFF, but a minute later, it turned itself on again. Or you could adjust the speed of the fan between high and low, but it was always high. Here is incompetent person #3. Worst of all, the water pressure in the showers (in both rooms) was abysmal. It was like someone standing over you with an eye dropper of water and letting a few drops come down at a time. I can't believe that this hotel would sacrifice guests' comfort to be ”environmentally friendly” or whatever reason they had for not having any water pressure in the shower. I strongly recommend against this hotel, if you want to be comfortable, since complaining to staff doesn't accomplish anything - they are all incompetent.

It was great. But early in the morning there were a lot of young people laughing and shouting. I had broken sleep.

Long-term guest searching for a permanent home in CT. The front desk staff is EXCELLENT - friendly, helpful and very pleasant to deal with. Jul has been great - always helpful and cheerful and makes my stay very comfortable. Appreciate it being pet-friendly, having a full kitchen and free Wi-Fi. Only negative aspect was the amount of trash around the outside of the hotel. I suspect it's the result of fewer staff (maybe due to COVID) but it's not the hotel's fault that some of the guests are honestly just pigs. Also would have preferred my room be cleaned weekly instead of every 2 weeks but I understand the reason. But I would still rate the hotel as excellent!

I had ankle replacement in NYC and spent 35 days at Homewood Suites recovering. Staff were wonderful to work with. The manager brought me a get well balloon and a Homewood Suites fleece throw. They accommodated cleaning while I stayed in the room since I was elevating my ankle above heart height 90% of the first 2 weeks and 60% of next 2 weeks. There are a number of good restaurants you can order takeout from. Wednesday evening soup, salad, wine and beer nights were always very pleasant. On the days that were warm enough, and once I could get around a little on my knee scooter I enjoyed the large 2nd floor patio facing woods and the river even though you could hear a little road noise there. Inside our room there was no road noise. In 35 nights there were 1 or 2 when we were aware of a children’s birthday party partly being celebrated in lobby area we were close to. But even then not much noise or for long. Furniture shows some wear and accessible living room needs better lighting. When our son and his family visited we saw that regular 1 BR suite has more lamps and better lighting. Very nice staff. Very accepting of our corgi and our cat. I highly recommend this hotel

Being from the DC metro area, I'd have to say, I was shocked. I mean, it's Marriott. Frayed carpet, scratches all over the walls, mildew around my tub, black dust collected on the walls in my room, my dead bolt didn't lock, my stool barely flushed, and spots were on the carpet and furniture, and the hotel was over-run with drunk parents, and lots of hockey playing kids, running back and forth through the hotel, climbing all over furniture. Even the front desk lady had on a top (not a uniform) with spots all over the front of it. For $185/ night, I just found all this unacceptable. I worked hotels in my career, and you would NEVER find any hotel that is a Marriott in this condition in the DC metro area. I was truly disappointed, and ashamed for Marriott!

The hotel was in a great location but it was moldy and amenities were missing from the room, batteries dead in the thermostat, my first room smelled like cigarettes and the carpet was greasy. When I mentioned the state of my room they quickly moved me to another room so that was nice. The most frustrating part about this hotel was the fact that my family members and I asked weeks in advance if we could book rooms on the same floor in the same general area. The hotel agreed but once we arrived they put us on all different floors, opposite sides of the hotel and everything. We tried to make the best of it. My mother and I as well as my cousins met in my aunt's double room daily so we could all be together but a neighboring room made a noise complaint. They would never have had to complain if the hotel had booked all our rooms together as we had requested.

Close to everything .. mall, food, train station and downtown. You can stay without a car as everything is within walking distance and it is good for a few nights.. nothing fancy but just clean and convenient
