The Red Pump Inn

A fantastic weekend at the red pump inn, great location and made to feel really welcome. Although the menu was small, the food was very tasty. Nice beers and wines. Bar opened at 5:30, and the food was served till eight. Although we stayed in our campervan, the accommodation looked excellent.

Having never been glamping before, we decided to take a chance and rented a shepards hut for the night. Best decision ever. The huts are so well made, beautifully decorated and cosy, you couldn't ask for much more. Everything needed was provided. The owners of the Inn are two of the friendliest, most welcoming people and nothing was too much trouble. The supper menu was simple, but the food was lovely - as was the breakfast. Bar with an open fire, you just can't go wrong. The surrounding area was so peaceful with picturesque views and plenty of sheep! Cannot praise this place enough, we would definitely stay again. Thank you so much!

Really lovely 2 night stay. We arrived very late at night having travelled a long way, but we had prewarned the owners and they were there to greet us. The room was very clean, a nice size and equipped with everything we needed. The bathroom was huge, plenty of hot water and nice towels and robes. Beautiful views out of the windows which added to the well presented room. The breakfast was super, plenty of choice from cooked to cereals and the best poached eggs we had ever seen. The staff were chatty, friendly and helpful and we felt very welcome.

We stayed here with friends to attend a wedding party near-by. From the get go we were welcomed by Fran as if we were part of her family, check in was simple, no fuss at all. Our room was large, fairly rustic, but with a very nice wet room for anyone wanting a bit of luxury. We brought a lovely bottle of wine from cellar, to start the evening before the bar itself opened. Upon meeting all our friends in the bar area and smelling the food from the kitchen we all contemplated staying at the Inn instead of going out. After the celebrations, we returned to the Inn and enjoyed a great nights sleep in a large, comfy bed. In the morning, breakfast was buffet style,self service, basic, but tasty and plentiful. All in all..The Red Pump Inn was a great place to stay and we would happily return and recommend to others.10/10 Thanks Fran and Jonathan 👍

Second time we've stayed here . First in a yurt this time in a shepherds hut. It's fab ! Gorgeous setting , gorgeous hut and great owners. When we last came there was a huge steak menu this time more of a supper menu. This did not disappoint ! Food was great v homely ! We had beef Bourguignon and it was lovely . We will be back I'm sure . Thankyou

We visited here during a wedding event we were invited too. We were very impressed. This was our first glamping experience in a yurt. On arrival we were greeted by the owner. He was very helpful and showed us to our yurt and showed us how things work like the shower. First impressions very impressed. Very cosy and comfy. Bed was very comfortable. Shower was great in fact better than one we have at home. A small heater was provided and that got yurt nice and toastie. Yurt was very clean and spacious and a very good accommodation standard. Pub was also very nice. Can't comment on breakfast we we didn't make it (too many drinkies night before!)

I arrange for a group of 14 friends to attend an experience day on electric tials motorbikes bikes at Inch Perfect Trials, in June 2023. This was about 10-15 mins away. The Red Pump Inn was on their recommended list and I am glad it was. Despite contacting them in January when the inn was closed, they were exceedingly helpful in making what was a complex booking with both rooms and yurts, with multiple durations. To keep costs down we took over four yurts in the garden. Each has three separate beds, so was perfect for us chaps, they can accommodate more if people share beds. The inside/ outside showers were a novelty, perfectly acceptable and a great talking point. Not sure how chilly they would be in the winter? You go through an internal door into a what looks like a wooden shed with no windows, it has a wood floor but the bottom walls are open for a few inches for air to circulate. In here is a piping hot open shower, a small bowl as a basin and a wc, very rustic. If this was in the Maldives, or a luxury safari camp, it would be one of the highlights! The decor in the yurts was loverely and would make a great place for a memorable romantic anniversary weekend. Not quite what we needed, but it was a very pleasant surprise for us. The large circular window in the roof's apex, gave a great impression of Star Trek's transporter beam in the morning as the sun came up. Some last minute mates didn't have any place to stay, so they let them camp in the adjacent field for a nominal sum. They are not set up for camping, so the facilities had to be the WC off the bar and subject to opening times, or they could hammer on a yurt door and try to negotiate a shower in one our our yurts, a fruitless exercise. This was not an issue and we were very grateful for their assistance at such short notice. We had some chaps stay in the main pub rooms and were happy with what they booked. Fran and Jonathan the inn keepers are very friendly and helpful, super hosts. They gave us a separate dining room for dinner, they fed the group on two nights, the food was simple but good, as was the atmosphere. We all paid for our food and drink separately which was a big bonus for us, less admin and was much appreciated Breakfast buffet was very nice too. There is a massive car park off the road, a bonus as we have a lot of cars/ bikes. A very nice garden terrace in the evening, one night they served us dinner there. One chap arrived much earlier than the rest and was directed off for a walk into the countryside to a small river for for some top level swimming holes. Red Pump Inn is a smashing place I cannot recommend it enough and would return again when we come back for Inch Perfect again ,or to enjoy the forest of Bowmen. The pub is very isolated and the countryside is rolling hills and woodlands, with some nice rivers and streams close by. After Inch Perfect Trials we were directed to a couple of waterside pubs to relax in, its a charming area for a weekend break. A blanket

They tried to charge me £136 again on arrival. I explained that this was my 11th night on ********* and I’d therefore already paid. Was told “that’s your business” I said no it’s not it’s yours. Even when i produced the evidence, I did not get an apology. Breakfast is continental which is not specified. Only a bath in the room with an inadequate shower head. Overall it was an ok stay, but not value for the money paid.

We stayed here for 1 night with my husband,brother and sister in law as we were watching our son in a football match v Clitheroe. Johnathan made us feel welcome and our room had a fabulous view. The bathroom was on the landing but was our private bothroom which was not an issue. The bed was very comfortable and coffee facilities with nice biscuits. The breakfast was buffet style and it was great to see fresh strawberries were available. However the only improvement would be to add scrambled eggs alongside the bacon and sausages. The bread was homemade and very nice as was the caffetierre coffee. I would recommend this place to friends and family and will certainly stay again. Thankyou Fran and Johnathan.
