The hotel is one of the lovliest I have ever been in Portugal (25 visits). Very unique, has a history and lovely drcorated. The gardens are great to stroll and the entire atmosphere is suberb. Rooms are comfortable and the meals are tasty. I did not give it 5 points due to 2 unprofessional acts that were made by the hotel. A suitcase of one of my travelers was missing and apparently was found a day later in a wrong room - The hotel has not find a way to express apology. The same traveler forgot shoes in her room that were found by the hotel but they never let us know that they found it ( for 5 days). In spite of that the hotel is highly recommended

What a terrific hotel. New, clean, quiet, comfortable room and excellent customer service from all the staff. Had a soft supportive king bed, bar refrigerator, tea and coffee station and lots of storage. Breakfast was extensive with some hot offerings (scrambled eggs and bacon), cold cuts, cheese, breads for toasting and buns plus pastries and fruit…and a coffee and tea station in a beautiful setting - either inside or out. A short walk takes you to the river walk and parks and the great restaurants are just outside the hotel door - literally. We had some wonderful pasta on one night and tried the salt cod and steak at the other place just next door.

A localização é ótima: apesar de não ser tão perto das principais atrações da cidade, fica numa região com várias opções de transporte, além de supermercados e locais para comer. O preço é um grande diferencial, tendo boas acomodações com ótimo espaço a um preço excelente. Apesar de a rua ser um tanto movimentada, não tivemos qualquer problema com barulho à noite. Mesmo não havendo ar condicionado e fazendo muito calor durante o dia, ficar com as janelas parcialmente abertas à noite foi mais que suficiente para ter uma boa noite de sono. Necessita atenção a detalhes em reparos que não custam muito e, por não terem sido feitos, acabam dando mau aspecto a um quarto que se nota ter sido renovado há pouco: a torneira não está bem fixa na pia, uma cortina não pode ser recolhida e a ducha não fica bem fixa no suporte durante o banho. O atendimento é bastante acolhedor, porém, só por questão de informação adicional, tivemos problema no pedido para deixarmos nossas bolsas de viagem antes do check-in, pois chegaríamos ainda pela manhã na cidade: sei que isso não é uma obrigação da acomodação, mas um dos motivos de reservarmos esta acomodação foi justamente por termos recebido a confirmação de que poderíamos deixar nossas coisas no hotel antes do check-in (que ocorre às 15h). Porém, como regra não há qualquer pessoa na recepção antes das 12h (ou seja, até essa hora nunca é possível deixar suas coisas lá) e no dia em que fomos não haveria ninguém nem mesmo até as 15h; pensamos apenas que poderia ter havido aviso prévio deste pormenor ou mesmo resposta quando tentamos contato, pois isso atrapalhou um pouco nossos planos na cidade. Entendemos perfeitamente as razões dadas, mas ainda assim achamos justo haver uma maior preocupação da acomodação nessa questão.

Hemos estado una noche y ha sido una estancia muy agradable. Para empezar hicimos la reserva a través de Booking, pero por motivos personales tuvimos que adelantar la estancia una noche, lo comentamos y no hubo ningún problema ni tampoco un coste adicional. La comunicación en todo momento muy bien, vía WhatsApp indicando como entrar y acceder al alojamiento. La habitación es más amplia de lo esperado, muy limpia y renovada. Nos ha gustado mucho. A parte hay una zona comunitaria con cocina y terraza donde incluso puedes utilizar todos los productos y comida que dejan. Lo único malo que diría es que no tiene ascensor y si estás en la tercera planta como nosotros es un poco incomodo subir y bajar las maletas.

Beautiful historic hotel, comfy rooms, clean, quiet, fast hot water, loved the elevator, perfect location, nice breakfast, delicious coffee. The highlight was how helpful Louisa was with our confusing issue with the trains going on strike. She immediately researched our journey and found us solutions. I was amazing and will be forever grateful! From the moment I explained our predicament she went above and beyond to help us. The hotel alone was fabulous but Louisa is the diamond in this palace!

Very basic chained hotel - take note there are old rooms and new rooms for the hotel in Coimbra. The photos listed mostly show the new rooms but we were given the old room which was super dated. Even the remote control for the TV was not working. We requested for the new room and thankfully one was available for immediate check-in. Apparently only 5 out of 90 rooms are revamped? Only the reception staff could speak English. Location was about 10 mins walk to city centre and 5 mins drive from Coimbra-B train station via Uber. You may refer to my photos to see the difference between the old and the new room.

This hotel is a hidden gem! Great location that includes being minutes (walking) from the heart of old city center of Coimbra, great small resturants, shopping, and seeing the university. There is also a grocery store about 2 minutes walking distance which is always a bonus in my book. This hotel is located about 4 walking minutes from the train station and about a 7 minute drive from the bus station. What I loved about this hotel is the bar area, which is also the breakfast area, and then you walk up a flight of stairs to one of the best roof top sitting area! Amazing picture taking. The bar opens at 4:00PM and offers light eats, wine, beer, and other drinks. Good prices as well. Breakfast is very good with eggs, bacon, fruit, and many other items. The only con I would say is that the rooms are a little dated and bare essentials provided. However, it doesn't keep me from recommending the hotel highly and I would love to visit again. Also, bonus the staff is very friendly and helpful. Great stay!
