Right from the start I was met with disappointment.
I selected this hotel specifically as it had an airport collection service - which was twice the price but I was prepared to pay it as I'm travelling by myself.
The hotel failed to collect me. The reception staff appeared unwilling to be particularly supportive and at one point hung up on me.
When I finally arrived, the hotel is nice. Room was a decent size, massive and comfortable bed, wet room style bathroom and full bath. I had selected a sea view which was worth it. However I was on the third floor which meant a 6am wake up by the local train rolling passed the hotel - after only 4 hours sleep, this wasn’t appreciated but also part of the charm of the location.
Management finally stepped up, apologised, moved me rooms and gave me free breakfast.
So the downside was poor initial comms from their finance team to their transport team, but redeemed by the manager who did go out of his way to rectify the situation (however it seems the front line staff weren’t empowered to make any decisions which was ‘annoying’ at 1:30am.
Final thoughts - rooftop pool and bar were amazing. Drinks are standard for a hotel bar and the food was good. They had a DJ at night who was a present without being overpowering and the bar had a great vibe. The brekkie was excellent and extensive!
