The Old Bakehouse

We had a lovely short break after Christmas and our accommodation and hosts were great. The Old Bakehouse was beautiful, comfortable and friendly. Everything you want and need for your stay, The B&B was in the middle of the village and we found parking in the nearby carpark. Across the road was the pub which did great pub meals and beers. Breakfast had a great range and was delicious. We were able to explore the surrounding Devon attractions and towns. We had a lovely relaxing holiday,

From our first arrival we were met by a very friendly and happy to help host Steve. Both him and Fiona made our stay enjoyable as they couldn’t do enough for us (Bacon sandwiches may now appear on the breakfast menu). The room and the en suite we had were clean, the bed was very comfortable and the tea and coffee facilities excellent. Car parking in the street was easily available just around the corner in Govers Meadow. Although Steve and Fiona don’t supply evening meals, the pub across the road, The Kingfisher, has a very good evening menu.The B&b also allows easy access to the local resorts of Seaton, Lyme Regis and Sidmouth amongst others. The tram station from Colyton to Seaton is a 15 minute walk away. Both myself and my wife would highly recommend staying at the Old Bakehouse.

Wonderful stay with Steve and Fiona at The Old Bakehouse. We had a short break in November and loved exploring the area with time in Lyme Regis and coastal walks nearby. The B&B is spotlessly clean and Steve who was front of house was friendly, warm and welcoming. And finally, the breakfast was top notch too, perfectly cooked and very generous.

Steve and Fiona are a charming, welcoming and very helpful couple. The Old Bakehouse is comfortable, scrupulously clean and the breakfasts are excellent. The beds are comfortable too! Its location is ideaaly placed in the centre of Colyton and there is much to do in the vicinity.

Steve and Fiona are a charming couple and made us most welcome. Their house is spotless, the breakfast superb and the lounge bright and comfortable . This is not our first visit and certainly won’t be our last, Steves collection of vinyl LPs is wonderful and eating breakfast to a muted background of jazz classics was an added bonus

Lovely place to stay. Very warm and welcoming. Use of the dinning area for evening take away if needed and encouraged to make the most of the fab collection of vinyl records on the record player in the lounge area. Beds very comfortable, cooked breakfast were generous and delicious. Village is pretty and very interesting with a couple of good pubs and a tapas bar to walk to. We will definitely be back next year.
