Le Stanze del Lago Suites & Pool

We chose this as our base for a first ever short (3 Day) trip to Como. This was squeezed between 2 days in Milan on either side of the visit to Como - a week in total. My reason for selecting this venue was that it had a small pool & sun deck which I thought I might use to relax between 2 busy days in Milan. As it turned out I did not spend very much time at the pool as there was so much to see and enjoy in Como itself. There is a number of noteworthy features to this venue, which is at pains to point out that it is not an hotel. The property is beautiful and located in a quiet part of Como. The limited services provided are well delivered. Booking in was efficient and the proprietors have a welcoming and informative guide book and very useful hints on places of interest and restaurant tips. The suites are fairly basic but are large and provide all of the items you would need for a short stay. Our suite had a small but attractive balcony which caught the sun most of the day. The pool was neat and tidy and well looked after but caught the sun only up until early afternoon due to it’s proximity to the surrounding private houses. In fairness this may have been partly due to the time of year. To counter the fact that there is not always staff on the premises, guests are given 3 keys - 2 of which open the external entry gate and the normal entrance door - the third key is for your suite. The staff encourage you to pre-select your breakfast preferences by completing your requests (on their breakfast menu) before 7 pm the night before. When you sit down for breakfast the staff recognise your specific breakfast choice from your key fob! We are not big eaters in the morning however I imagine some guests might find the breakfast fare a bit ‘modest’ if they were hearty breakfast types! It is important to comment on location. We were well aware from previous reviews that the Suites were a bit away from the main drag and that there were steps to negotiate going and returning from Como itself. It is a decent walk from the Suites into Como itself and the steps were steep and would definitely not suit people with walking difficulties.

Elisabetta was amazing! She made us feel at home and the service has been excellent. The room was new and modern, 10/10 would recommend to friends and family visiting Como.

The hotel was great and clean. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Not too far from train station or middle of town.

Great location excellent facilities and very comfortable rooms made this an ideal base to explore Lake Como , Milan and even dinner in Lugano The homemade breakfast was a great way to start the day fresh prepared with a good choice of savoury and sweet Great pool which is a must when holidaying in the summer months The attentiveness of the staff made this a perfect place to stay

Absolutely perfect ! Really loved everything about this place , super clean & spacious rooms. We got top floor corner suite with wraparound balcony which was fabulous. Staff very warm & friendly, like family. Location was the best ; 5 min walk to duomo yet super quiet . Pool was an added bonus during hot afternoons. Entire property was impeccable. Would definitely stay again .

What a simply perfect place to stay. Welcomed with open arms by an amazing young lady, who was so warm and full of smiles. Showed us everything we needed to know to help our stay be very very good indeed. The rooms are all individually heated or cooled and are all very very comfortable, showers are perfect and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is just wonderful, and beautifully home cooked by Barbara, who visits each table individually to explain the delights on offer. The hotel does have parking which has to be prebooked, it is a little tight to get in. We were leaving very early on our departure day, but we had delivered to our room the night before a lovely bag of the breakfast goodies for our onward journey. There is a pretty steep climb back to the hotel from the 5/10 min walk from central Como, but not at all unpleasant. We will certainly be back to this wonderful hotel, Oh and one last thing, what a lovely little surprise awaits your return from an evening out……. Simply perfect Thank you

- Amazing staff; transportation, reception and breakfast – best service we have had in any hotel. - Clean and modern rooms. - Breakfast was great with multiple options. - Hotel premises were also beautiful and well maintained. - Excellent location, close to everything but still quiet. All in all, would highly recommend. Value for money is most probably the best in the area.

This is a true hidden gem in Como. The rooms, service, staff, breakfast and location are second to none. Elizabetta is the true definition of a host. Wonderful pool and gardens are the cherry on the top.
