Barcelo Playa Blanca

Beautiful hotel great location and the cleanliness is second to none. However staff are not trained enough and are rude and reception staff are trained to say NO. We went AI but wanted to upgrade to Royal elite never a problem with Barcelo as we are regulars but it was an emphatic NO. I asked to speak to the manageress told her we were Barcelo regulars but to no avail , well I’m sorry we were willing to pay more money but no way around any of them. Lovely staff cleaning the rooms but the rudeness of the girls at the Breeze bar really needs to be addressed, didn’t want to know and couldn’t be bothered to even attempt a smile. There is a smell of sewage in certain parts of this hotel especially the outside bar beside the restaurant really unpleasant. The food is lovely great variety and loads to choose from but it’s never hot the coffee from the machine is lovely but goes cold in no time , should consider individual flasks . The wine choice is deplorable , we only found out on our 5th night that as we were all inclusive we were entitled to different wine don’t know why they couldn’t tell us on check in. The room was suited to 2 people 2 glasses two chairs on the balcony didn’t suit 3 and the sink in the room was a joke very badly planned . The shower was completely see through a lack of privacy for 3 people sharing . Overall we made the most of it but would certainly not return due to too many issues .
