Hotel Majoni

This is a v basic 4 star hotel with few facilities and a skeleton staff. The lift is small and slow. The ski/ boot room is small, badly designed, cramped and inadequately heated. The restaurant, which is all self-service, is cramped, noisy and decorated with cheap artificial flowers. The food is poor eg tinned peaches and prunes every morning for breakfast, and pasta which is kept too long on the lukewarm buffet each evening. Positives are that it is clean, with excellent maid service, they provided a cold plated meal ( which was better than anything we had in the restaurant) when we wanted to attend a concert one evening, and it is v close to the ski bus stop.

The buffet meals are poor eg diluted concentrate orange juice and tinned peaches/ prunes for breakfast every day, hot food ( including pasta) left to congeal at dinner, and deserts which comprise mainly dry sponge in various forms.

The Duncurins spent a lovely week’s skiing in the wonderful town of Cortina and stayed at the Hotel Majoni. This is a lovely comfortable hotel which is warm, kept spotless by the cleaning staff and is also centrally situated such that one only has a short walk to the: ski bus, fabulous shops, centre of town, ski hire, church and so on. Also as standard come the wonderful friendly, kind staff who make you feel right at home and all do their best to make one feel comfortable and relaxed. Food was excellent and a buffet style with lots of options so that one could start with a salad, soup and then main courses followed by choice of deserts. This works really well and there is sufficient variety such that one can always find tasty and well-cooked food. There is a small boot room so that you can store skis and boots. Please note there are no boot warmers as such and we found that by using the shake and go hand warmers each day we skied and then dropping them in our boots upon our return was a good way of helping keep boots dry. The public rooms downstairs are comfortable, well furnished and have lovely wooden panelling to the arches and doors. This is beautifully done in quality woods. Sadly, as with so many alpine-themed hotels this feature is extended up into the bedrooms but not so much with quality woods but antique-stained pine with an explosion of such extending from the skirting, the architraves and acres of panelling along the walls. To be fair, rooms are comfortable but Duncurin would be tempted to turn a painter loose and brighten much of this from stem to stern. In a similar way the bathrooms all feature wide expanses of dark tiling, floors and walls; and breaking some of this up would make the generous-sized rooms more bright and inviting. As above the staff are to a man and woman kind and attentive. The manager made a point of approaching every table over the evening meal to make sure that everything was okay and guests were happy. Ultimately then, one thing remains and that is would we be happy to return to Cortina and this hotel and I guess: yes in a heartbeat would be the answer we would give. Duncurin wishes them well.

Camera piccola con la moquette sporca , arredi vecchi, anche il bagno fatiscente . il prezzo assurdo (3 notti 4300 eur in mezza pensione) sia per la qualita della camera che del servizio. Un solo complimento . La posizione è l' unica nota positiva.

Per il secondo anno consecutivo ho soggiornato all'hotel Majoni, trovando sempre una qualità elevata nella struttura e nell'accoglienza. Molto "calda" la sala colazione, in pieno stile cortinese. Forse, se dovessi fare un appunto, sarebbe sulla mancanza/scarsità di informazioni che alla reception sono in grado di dare in merito ai servizi a Cortina: ho chiesto della possibilità di partecipare a ciaspolate in zona ma non sapevano nulla, indirizzandomi al punto informativo locale che però aveva orari non compatibili con i miei. Qualche info in più sarebbe gradita.

L'hotel è in "stile Cortina", ovvero caldo, accogliente, interni in legno. Sala colazione al piano inferiore. Personale accogliente e parcheggio gratuito a disposizione. Bella la vista sulle montagne.

La posizione dell’hotel é molto buona , pochi minuti dal centro . Tutto il personale dell’albergo molto gentile e cordiale . Lo chef della cucina del sud Italia. Camere e spazi comuni accoglienti . Di sera serviti con buffet vario e piatti tipici dell’ampezzano e meridionale. Consigliato soprattutto per la vicinanza dal paese.

Quest’estate siamo scappati dalla calura di Ferrara, e abbiamo trovato un’oasi al fresco, una chicca in pieno centro a Cortina! Hotel quattro stelle, comodo, pratico con camere arredate in stile tipico. Ricevimento, ristorante e bar sono tutti collegati a pochi passi d’uomo. Abbiamo prenotato una camera con terrazzo e vista sulle montagne posizionate proprio di fronte, un panorama meraviglioso, sembra un quadro dipinto a mano! Mangiato divinamente, colazione e cena sono a buffet con un’infinta scelta di pietanze a partire dagli antipasti per concludere fino al dessert, grandissimo plauso va allo chef! Pulizia impeccabile, in verità tutto lo staff si è dimostrato altamente professionale, coordinati da una direzione sempre presente, attenta ad ogni minimo dettaglio, partendo dall’accoglienza fino al dopocena. Voto: 10 e lode

Location fantastica , si trova in centro appena fuori dalla zona pedonale . Ha bisogno di lavori di restauro e soprattutto interesse da parte della proprietà a farne una perla come meriterebbe . Una ragazza alla reception e lo chef hanno sopperito alle enormi lacune . Complimenti ai dipendenti
