Annette and Michael offer an exquisite and authentic experience which immerses you into the unique charm of a medieval Maltese guest house as though you've travelled through time. Attention to every detail and flawless presentation. You will also enjoy the separation between the guest rooms as this enhances both privacy and quiet. Sleep comes easy in the Auberge. Food, complimentary beverages, stunning Grand Harbour views. Deserves a 6th star. Tips for other travellers As everyone has different needs and desires be clear to your hosts as they sincerely wish to assist you in tailoring your stay to your liking. If your stay is short be sure to do your research as there is plenty to do on this relatively small island and many modes of transport including buses, various taxi services and ferries. Off-season car rentals are inexpensive however driving in Malta is to say the least, challenging. Make Gozo a must as it has a charm of its own.

We had an incredible time staying at the 3 cities auberge for a week! The bedrooms, communal areas and outdoor areas are stunning as can be seen on the pictures. It is located in the heart of the historic centre, opposite Valletta and offers the real historic Maltese experience. It is only a short bus trip away from Valletta Centre (about 15 mins) or 10 mins by ferry. Both ferry and bus stations are 1-2 mins away from the auberge. You can also enjoy lots of nice restaurants in the harbour, again only a short walk away. Annett and Michael are so nice and friendly and very dedicated to their guests. Dear Annette+Michael Sorry It has taken some time to write you a review, we have honestly just been trying to find the kindest words possible! Annette and Michael greeted us at a silly time in the morning and were more than happy to give us a full tour, take our luggage and offer us water. We were already blown away at the amazing Architecture of the place. So so beautiful. We were able to leave our door unlocked at all times and felt comfortable enough to do so. (And if you are Scottish, this isn't something we would usually do!) In the morning, Annette and Michael (I don't even want to say hosts, because they were more like parents or friends for the week) overloaded us with AMAZING breakfast which was a change to our usual, cereal or nothing. George now looks disappointed every time I hand him a banana in a rush (Thanks guys!) They never sent us out without suncream, a hat and sunglasses or a recommendation of somewhere to go. George and I really bonded nicely on our holiday and it really helped to be so comfortable in where we were staying. Michael and Annette even invited us to join them for a drink, hearing lots about their interesting lives and even meeting their Canadian friends who were fab! We were shocked that the Drinks in our room were free as this is a first for us haha! They even decorated for my 21rst birthday and got me a beautiful card (and honeymoon card) with some gorgeous wine, this made me tear up as I really felt like I was staying with family on my birthday ❤️ We cannot express to them, how great full we are to them and wish we had gone out for a dinner with them before we left, as it was great to just chat to them. They even paid for a taxi to the airport for us, which was so great as they were only willing to take us 4 hours before our flight. I really really cannot express how much these people have beautiful souls and hearts. THANK YOU! Mr&Mrs Goddard

We visited for a long weekend to celebrate an anniversary and couldn’t have been happier spending it at 3cities. The house is beautifully renovated and gives an authentic experience along with very relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The owners and hosts Annett and Michael helped make our stay even more special with their welcoming, attentiveness, recommendations and super tasty and varied breakfast! They truly went above and beyond and we wish we could have stayed longer! The location is great to experience the local way of life with an easy trip on the bus or ferry across to Valletta itself. Overall a wonderful stay and well worthy of all the 5 star ratings and more!

As my parents used to have a holiday home in San Gwann for over 20 years whenever they spoke of changing place I voted for the 3 cities part of Malta. Unluckily I was unheard there being many steps to walk, big houses and so on. So when I returned to Malta for a holiday with my husband I looked for someting truly Maltese and I found it in the wonderful 3Cities Auberge run by Annett and Michael. The Auberge is cosy and Annett and Michael have retained many of the original features in those high ceiling rooms. They are the perfect hosts, giving you valuable advice even before you arrive. Their tips are very reliable and they do everything to make you feel comfortable. The breakfast is a treat. Unfortunately we couldn't enjoy the whole range on offer as we went diving and didn't want to be to stuffed :-) Many good restaurants are just a 10 minutes walk away near the marina. Else get a cab and go to one of the other recommended places in no time. Would return anytime, very clean, a true home from home in many aspects.

There were only three things that made this a good stay: 1. The Auberge itself- it is beautifully furnished, extremely comfortable and located in a perfect position to explore Malta. The breakfasts are delicious as well. 2. and 3. Annett and Michael- I don't think you could get more gracious hosts than this lovely couple. They are generous, helpful, charming and welcoming. We went back to the Auberge this year, having discovered it last year. We will definitely go back again. Unless, of course, too many people read this review and book the Auberge solid! When visiting Valletta, I strongly recommend the Underground tour (book via Heritage Malta) and the Luzzu boat tour of the harbours (from Sliema).
