We checked in late and it was the friendliest check in we had ever experienced. (Jenny you're a star!) The welcome drink and plates of food in the restaurant were well received after our long journey. We had a problem with our safe and the air conditioning (which dripped onto the entrance floor of the bathroom) and maintenance arrived within minutes to sort. The safe was replaced but the air conditioning unit dripped all week so we placed a towel on the floor and the cleaner gave us a dry one every day!! We didn't let that spoil our holiday because the place was immaculate. WIFI is not brilliant but we managed. From cleanliness of the rooms and public areas to the beautifully kept gardens. Our room was facing the side of the hotel with partial sea view and it was silent every night. Beds were very hard and pillows equally so, but some people like that. Shower pressure was great with plenty of hot water. TV only has 2 English channels but we had our tablets to watch Netflix on and you don't go on holiday to sit in a hotel room and watch tv. It is a predominantly German hotel but we came across other English guests, Italian and French. Staff spoke German, Spanish or English and even though we tried a few phrases they always smiled and spoke back to us in English!! The restaurant food was vast and being allergic to garlic I thought I would have a problem, but the kitchen staff advised me daily what I could and could not eat and there was always something nice to choose. Choices included cooked breakfast, continental breakfasts, fruit, salads, meats, fish, pasta, rice, vegetables, bread etc. We were there a week and never ate the same dish twice. Drinks were not watered down, in fact, spirit portions leaned towards doubles! The restaurant staff never stopped working, clearing tables, helping, replenishing food, they worked like a well oiled machine! Pool was cool, but very clean and perfect in the hot weather. We never once failed to find sunbeds even though the Germans are professional sunbed reservers lol. There are toilets by the pool and a bar where you could get snacks and ice creams. The hotel is over looking the sea and you can go left or right to find nice sandy bits to swim in. The ground squirrels (chipmunks) were so cute and ever so friendly. If you feed them (which you aren't really suppose to do!) they take the food gently from your hand. We went out for a day trip to the zoo, which we thoroughly enjoyed - the coach goes to and from the hotel, ask reception for times - it was 5 euros each, so much cheaper than a taxi. There's not much around the hotel, just a few shops and restaurants if you mooch into town, but reception will always call you a taxi if you want to go somewhere specific. There was entertainment every night at 9.30pm, the circus act was very good, they had a disco and bingo night, but we preferred to chill on the veranda. The hotel was very busy, but strangely, it didn't feel crowded. You'll get use to the lifts
